Surnames: Speer, Speir, Gordon, Strahan
My 4G-Grandfather was Speer Brines Strahan born bet. 1750 and 1770 in Scotland, most likely Aberdeenshire or his parents were from there and he was born in County Antrim, Ireland.

We have a very strong tradition in our family of using the mother's maiden name as either the first or second name of son's. This tradition still is being used today.

Would any Speer/Speir researchers have a possible leads on the partents of Speer Brines Strahan, born in Scotland?? This Speer Strahan may also have a wife, mother or grandmother last name of Gordon.
