I few of us Dales whose ancestors came from Northern Ireland have had our DNA tests done. Two of us had ancestors from County Derry, one of which ended up in Scotland while mine ended up in Pontiac County. Another of our group traces his ancestry back to the Ballymena area of County Antrim. Tests show a very close relationship between the Ballymena Dales and the Derry Dales.
I have always suspected that the Cumberland/Russell/Argenteuil Dales, who were from the Carncastle area of Antrim, were related to our Dales of Pontiac.
It would be very interesting if a male Dale from that area took the test to compare results. It could open up a lot of early Dale research.
