Thanks so much. Is this Addie?? If so I have corresponded with you and even met you once a long time ago. I just don't know what happened to William and Lettie Tucker Steele after the 1860 Larue census. I thought maybe might find something with I could find their children's descendants.

I did find William's father, grandfather and great grandfather. My husband is related to William's son Joseph and I have info on him but still do not know what happened to William and Lettie or who their children married. You can email me directly at steelemagnolia@gmail.com

Thanks again.
Brenda

Robert S. Kane married Margaret C. Smith in Larue County in 1866. I am trying to trace Robert Kane ancestors. The marriage license states he was born in York,PA, his mother was born in PA and his father was born, I think, in Maryland. This marriage was his second. He was 36 at the time of marriage making his birth year 1829 or 1830. Any information would be appreciated. Margaret Was daughter of George W. Smith and Hannah Wallace of Larue Co.

Hi - I'm Janet Kay Huss Beiner - I am doing ancestry search for Kansas Huss family and have Wyant Penibacker (middle name is oral history - can't find spelling anywhere) Huss as a great-great grandfather. He was born in 1821 in Larue County KY. He married Susan Ann Jones on 6/7/1842 in Hamiltons, Larue County. Wyant (most misspellings in census records - one 1875 Census even has William) and Susan went to Doniphan County, Wolf River Township, KS in 1856. Wyant died in 1888 and Susan died 6/21/1913 and both of them are buried in Moray Cemetery, Moray, KS. I have photocopy of photo of headstone. They had six kids - Fielding (1843 KY), Henrietta (1854 KY), Mary (1849 KY), William (1846, KY), James Henry (my great-grandfather - 7/11/1858 KS), and Francis Elizabeth (1859 KS). Fielding married Emily Dooley (born IL) in 1867 in Doniphan County, KS, and I have found one son, Harry, born 10/1894. James Henry (my ancestor) married Isabell Walters in 1881 and I have a copy of their marriage certificate. I believe Francis Elizabeth married Orrin Sharpe but I haven't gotten to that family group yet. I have the family groups that are direct ancestors for me if you are interested.

Let me know if any of this is helpful or if you have found more since you last posted.

Your recent posting prompted me to reread the earlier postings Re. Rev. John Baird. The mention of a book by Nellie Huber sounded familiar to me so I went looking in my Baird file on my computer.
I found the complete book "The Reverend John Baird Legacy" by Nellie Huber. I had copied the entire book into my digital camera back in March 2006 while browsing in the Louisville Public Library. I had filed it away and completely forgotten it. The book is hardbound and contains 216 pages with lots of family photos. So now I plan to do a complete review of the book this winter.
I am related to Nellie's husband, Earl Huber. He was a cousin on my mother's side. Nellie was a granddaughter of Jacob (Jake) Howell and Mary Elizabeth Baird. Most of the photos in the book are of the Howell's.
Russell Perkins

He was in LaRue county by the 1850 census in the HH of his father William Steele and his mother Lettie Tucker Steele and siblings.

Hello Tinda:

I have just spent the last two days tracking down Robert McLean Ferguson and Harriet Duncan. I am a Duncan descendent, descended from Captain James Duncan and Elizabeth Strode. I was surprised to learn there were more than three children from that union, as Harriet reported she was the mother of three children in both 1900 and 1910.

I tracked Matthew John Ferguson to California and have his wife, Ella Carpenter, and seven children, although Robert Trible Ferguson is the only of his children I have found a death record for.

I'm interested in sharing info. I'm guessing you have more on this family than I do, as you're descended from Edward G. Ferguson.

Hope to hear from you.

Sheryl

(does the C. stand for Clark) Catlett, dob Dec 1859, Fremont Cty, Iowa; then John Henry Catlett, dob ca 1830, KY; then to Isaac Catlett, dob ca 1801, either KY or VA. Isaac married Mary "Polly" Walters in 1825; 2) Margaret Ann Walters in 1861. I can't seem to get beyond Isaac to find his parents, grandparents, etc.

Peter Bryant's second wife was Robena Hazelwood, daughter of John Quenton and Matilda Underwood Hazelwood. Peter's son Victor married Agnes (might be Harriett Agnes) Hazelwood, and Peter's daughter Mary Lou married Joshua Hazelwood. These children were Robena's siblings. Peter died March 12, 1929 in Bullitt County and is buried at Lebanon Junction there.

Looking for death record or (burial location) of 2 black THURMANS in Hodgenville, KY. doing extensive research on both Samuel THURMAN sr. and Samuel THURMAN jr. Cannot find death records on these two. I also have the Shaw Cem. deed starting in 1906, so if they died before this date, where else would they be buried since Hubbard Cem.was not yet formed?

I have the following information on Isabell Bryant who married James Peter Saltsman:
Isabell's death certificate states - b. 6/11/1853 in Larue Co., KY, d. 10/10/1950 in Jefferson Co., KY; father - Silas Bryant (Alfred S. Bryant). Her DOB may be incorrect as the 1930 census of Jefferson Co. lists her age as 72.
KY marriage records show - 11/21/1852 - Alfred S. Bryant of Nelson Co., age 24, b. Larue Co. & Mary J. Brewer of Larue Co., age 19, b. Larue Co.

Hello,
Attached is a death certificate for a William Logan Nichols who died in LaRue County KY in 1934. It shows he was buried in Red Hill Cemetery. If checking the cemetery book for Red Hill Cemetery it shows there are a lot of other Nichols buried in the same cemetery including Ica D. Nichols, his wife. Could he have married a second time?
I'm not related to your family.
Dorann O'Neal Lam

I'm just taking a guess here, but could this Johnnie Robert Murphy be the son of James Jefferson Murphy and Elizabeth Harris? I don't have any information on him in my tree, except that he was born abt 1914. I always want to learn about any Murphy that traversed in this area. I still do not have any proof that this James & Elizabeth are connected to my line, but they sure are eerily similar to my people.

My Murphy lived in Larue and also married into the Underwood line. My Dora Maggie Murphy married George Atwood Underwood in Larue County in 1899. Their children were Mary Lona, Bettie, and Rosie Lee. Both Mary Lona and Bettie married Prices and Rosie married a Vernon. The kids all lived around Larue and died there. I believe their children migrated north into Louisville.
