Does anyone have any info on Alexander Gillespie's family? Alexander appears in the 1850 Johnson County census. (I believe in the Greasy Creek area.) He is 21 and a Farmer from VA. His wife is Elizabeth ?, 21 borned in KY. They have a son Andrew J. 2 years old borned in Ohio. Another son George is borned on 12 Mar, 1850 in KY. George is my great, great, great, grandfather. He married Sidney Williamson, the daughter of Asa Williamson. But there is a question about her mother being Mary Elizabeth Welch. When Sidney married George she married under the name Sydnia Mills. Why? George and Sidney had four sons that I know of. They are Alexander, Millard, Will, and George Monroe. I have been told George's family came from Dickenson CO, Va. I can find nothing on Alexander and Elizabeth ? prior to the Johnson County census. Do these people connect to any other Gillespie genealogy?
