Robert BARNES' Baltimore Co. Families, 1659 - 1759: Henry SATER was of Balto. Co. by Jan. 1716, when he surveyed 50 acres, Whitehall. He d. May 1754; m1. by Je. 1718, Mary, exx. of Edward STEVENSON. Edward STEVENSON's will was presented 17 Apr. 1716, but Henry & Mary SATER were later summoned for not administering the estate promptly. Henry SATER m2. Dorcas, possibly dau/o Wm. TOWSON. He owned Whitehall, Sater's Addn., Egypt, & part of Chevy Chase. In Nov. 1742, he sold an acre of Sater's Addn. to Henry LOVEALL, Wm. TOWSON, & Wm. BROWN, pastor & elders of the General Baptists. His will, made 16 Nov. 1753, pr. 30 May 1754, named wf. Dorcas, sons George, Henry, John, and an unborn child. Bond was posted 7 Jan. 1755 by Dorcas SATER with Reese BOWEN & Wm. TIPTON. Children:

The RootsWeb background information doesn't fit. It says that Henry SATER & Elizabeth NYE m. 28 Aug. 1628, Sussex, & had son Alexander, b. 1670. If Elizabeth was 18 at marriage, she would have been 60 in 1670. Thus, if this is the right line, there's probably a generation missing. Another entry says that Elizabeth was born in 1626, so perhaps she was a second wife, still pretty old to have a son in 1670, so perhaps the birth year of Alexander SATER, b. 1670, is also wrong. He would have been pretty young to marry Sarah GODFREY 3 Jan. 1686/7, Sussex.
