As part of the broader genealogy, I'd be interested in an outline of any descendants of James and Nancy Robertson Hurn, including your line through Benjamin Franklin Hurn.
Will share my line, also.

Actually, my research suggests that Stucky was actually Susan "Sucky" Saturday (the grandmother of Andrew Jackson Saturday, son of Nicey Saturday and son of unknown). I have been working a while on this family (Nicey was my 4th great grandmother). I will warn you, my interest is in finding the truth whatever that is - mixed race American Indian or African matters little to me.

I will be glad to share with you what I have found (including the court records that help to lay out the family relationship, that helps provide the data to show that Sucky was a female and the mother of Nicey). It's surely a tangled web, but one I'm still trying to tease apart bit by bit!

N. McBee

Yes, unfortunately, right now all I can rely on is online sources which are definately not always accurate. Last night I found a son born 20 years before his father. LOL What I can't understand is why people would put this in their tree if the very simple math shows there is an error. Hopefully, soon, I will be able to access better archives. I know i'm making beginner mistakes but maybe i'll get better. LOL Thank you so much for replying.
Robin

Just from your messages, it sounds as if you are concentrating on what's available online...? If so, you should know that the majority of "genealogy" documents are NOT available online and you'll need to contact the sources (i.e., courthouses, archives, libraries, county clerks, etc.) in order to get them.

Do NOT simply take family trees off websites -- unless they are backed up with credible, original documentation. Just because a tree is online doesn't guarantee that is is TRUE! (As you've already discovered by finding 11-year-old fathers! :) )

Thank you for your response. I have virtually no information on anyone on my father's side which is the side i'm trying to research. I can't find a marriage, birth certificate, etc on him. I have no aunts or uncles left who could help with information and my father has passed too. My grandparents passed long before I was born. I'm really just beginning this so I know I have alot to learn about searches. I've gotten quite a bit back though so i'm glad of that. I've researched Andrew and he does have a son named James but the dates still just don't fit. But, I haven't given up yet. LOL I'm going to keep digging.
Thanks again.

Do you know where and exactly when James Hamilton died? His death certificate may have parents' names. Have you search cemetery records? Other family members may be buried nearby. Do you have a copy of his will? His parents are probably not mentioned, but siblings may be -- that will help you trace the family. Do you have a copy of his marriage license? Sometimes that lists parents' names as well. How about land records? They would also be a good resource. He may have bought or inherited land from his family.

James Hamilton and Andrew Hamilton

I am trying to find information on James Hamilton born in Virginia in 1739 (Died 1831). All the member trees show his father as Andrew Hamilton 1728-1747. This cannot be correct as Andrew would have had a child at age 11. If Andrew is the father of James, the birth years of either James or Andrew must be off. I've searched other sources and still cannot come up with anything solid. I also, through member trees, found the name of Martha Kincaid to be the wife of Andrew Hamilton. Any help is appreciated.

Reaching out to anyone who has information on the Repass family who are related to Harrison family in Virginia. I am a descendent of Isabelle Repass (b 1865) who was raised by her grandparent's (Harrison) on their plantation. Her mother died during childbirth while having one of her many siblings (who I do not know their names). Her father abandoned them & went to Holland. Her siblings served in the war. From what I was told the plantation (which the main house may have burned down) was near a river, with a horse farm on the other side. Belle met John Hogue, who came to Virginia to rebuid the south after the Civil War. They moved to southern Ohio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the 1850 census Matilda and Levi are living in Jackson County, Tennessee, that census says she was born in Virginia. Levi and Matilda had three sons, the youngest being born 1852. She had died by the time the youngest son was three years old. I would like to know when she died, and where she is buried. I don't know if they married in Virginia or Tennessee.
Unfortunatly, it is not documented fact Benjamin Robison b. 1820, PA, parents were James Robison and Sarah Miller. I found this record when we were researching them in Frederick, MD and gave the information to some cousins who research this Robison line too. I've tried to confirm this relationship for over 10 years. However, to date this is not confirmed. Hopefully, we will get around our brick wall before long! I should add in spite of all the James and Sarah Robi(n)sons I've eliminated, I still need to find the James Robison and Sarah Miller who were married in Frederick Co, MD Sept, 1809. (And it is not the Sarah Miller d/o George and Catherine Miller nor Sarah Hubbs.) Anyone with suggestions or information, please contact me at brb@sunflower.com I'll be eternally grateful!
Michael Waggoner b: 1818 in Virginia, moved to Indiana

I have two people named Michael Waggoner in my database both born in 1818 in Virginia, both moved to Indiana. I think they may be the same person but I am not sure. I got each of their information from separate sources. If they are the same person, I want to merge them.

With one of the Michael Waggoner’s I know his brother (Robert) and mother’s first name (Sarah/Sallie). With the other I do not know parents or siblings, but do know the names of his two wives (Mariah Osborne and Sarah McDermed).

Does anybody know for sure if these are the same Michael Waggoner? Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Cully Waggoner

Descendants of Sarah (Sally) (Unknown)

1 Sarah (Sally) (Unknown)	Female
........	2 Robert Waggoner	Male	b: 1807 in Virginia
............ +(Unknown)	Female m: Abt. 1834
........ *2nd Wife of Robert Waggoner:
............ +Mary Franklin	Female m: January 25, 1844 in Martin Co., Indiana
........ *3rd Wife of Robert Waggoner:
............ +Sarah Fisher	Female	b: 1824 m: March 15, 1856 in Martin Co., Indiana
...................	3 James Marshall Waggoner	Male	b: February 08, 1860
....................... +Mary Belle Ross	Female	b: February 22, 1860 m: January 09, 1879 in Martin Co., Indiana
.............................	4 Warren Waggoner	Male
.............................	4 May Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Pearl Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Linda Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Leatha Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Bessie Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Lou-Ella Waggoner	Female
.............................	4 Robert Cleveland Waggoner	Male
...................	3 William R. I'm descended from Jacob Ziegler (b. appx. 1796 in MD)& wife Susan Funk (b. appx. 1802 in Franklin Co., PA). Their daughter, Mary Emma (b. 1838)was my gr-gr-grandmother.

Have you traced your Ziegler's back to that point and are we from the same family?

Hi,

I think Jesse Honse of Pittsburgh was my great uncle. I remember my mom mentioning him a few times when I was a child and I think she had one of his posters from when he ran for judge or possibly mayor. His brother, Kenneth Mainhart Honse married my Grandmother, Helen Klinko Honse and they had one daughter, Louise Honse Haebler. Kenneth was about 15 years older than my Grandmother and died when I was 2.5 years old. I have very limited information about this side of my family and am very interested in learning more. Both my mom and my grandmother are deceased and unfortunately, I did not take the time to learn more about my family history while they were still alive.

I don't know if this is helpful but it's nice to know someone else is also interested in this family's history.

Take care,
Susan Haebler

I'm guessing your Norman was the one in the 1920 census in Stark county IL? If so, you can look at an index of early death records, where Cicero and Thornton Kilby are listed
http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/datab...

It is only an index, but seems to confirm Norman's ancestors.

Re: Eubanks VA to KY to Ohio

Bob
I live within a half mile of Eubanks, VA. It is north of Round Hill, VA and south of Hillsboro, VA - near the intersection of Hillsboro Rd (Woodgrove Rd) and Alder School Rd. It is not an incorporated town and nobody named Eubanks still lives there.

Eubanks is a very old name here; I've seen it on old maps. Many people went through this area to Ohio in the 18th Century, including George Washington.

There is a local museum which may have more information. Loudoun Museum (703) 777-7427, www.loudounmusum.org. The museum may be able to identify a local historian who can provide more information.

I hope this is of some value to you. Feel free to contact me if you think I can be helpful.

Joe
joeorpeggy@gmail.com
