HI, I have read about Fernando de leyba's incredible efforts during the Revolutionary War. He was friends with william clark, of lewis and clark fame (i believe it is him, it may be lewis, so you may want to double check) Anyway, his daughter and clark(or lewis) are said to have been very fond of each other during their stay in St. Louis. In fact, there is a love story centered on them, which caused both people to be greatly affected by the personal and political problems of the time. I believe that if you did research on Lewis and Clark, the name Teresa de Leyba would come up. A picture of what she looked like might be found on Lewis and Clark websites as well.
