I have an 1850 Pike Co., Census, and have been trying to go through it adding information about as many families as I can (marriages, parents, ect).
In 1850 Ruel P Hackney, age 20, Westina Hackney, age 15 and Clark T. Hackney, age 7 months, lived next door to James Adkins, age 65, Nancy Adkins, age 55, Andorus Adkins, age 28 (listed as deaf and dumb), and Hunly Ross, age 20. Living on the other side of them were Susannah Adkins, age 43, William R. Adkins, age 18, Squire Adkins, age 15, Flemming Adkins, age 12, Surilda Adkins, age 3. It is likely that James was her father. I am still checking into this.
I am interested in this family because I believe Hunly Ross may have been the son of Rease A. Ross and Aggie Adkins, who was possibly the daughter of James. Rease Ross married Isabell Anderson after Aggie. I am researching the Anderson line.
Ruel Hackney was the son of Nicodemus Adkins. He married Westina 8 Dec 1849. Send me your e-mail address and I will send you new information as I get it.
