I'm taking a stab in the dark. I'm looking for the first wife of Joseph Maxson Barber. He was born about 1890 in NY, with other siblings born in Richmond Washington Co NY during the next 10 years. Parents assumed to be Benjamin Barber and Sarah Tefft. The family appears to have been in Chenango Co NY in the early 1800s. Joseph and his first wife appear to have had daughter Eunice born 1816 and son AVERY WALTON born 1819. Reportedly in Cattaraugus Co. That is where daughter Eunice (Barber) Bennett is buried. The first wife appears to have died by the early 1820s, as Joseph married Esther Terry during that time. Joseph and Esther appear in Chautauqua Co in an 1850 census.

Based on naming conventions, it seems reasonable to assume first wife may have had a parent named Avery or Walton, since those surnames were present in those areas at the time. Is anyone reporting a daughter born in the early 1890s -- say 1892, married by abt 1812 and deceased by 1822? Probably in Chenango or Cattaraugus or Chautauqua Co NY?
