"Margaret Agnes Bellman, passed away at the St. Francis hospital, Evanston, IL., Wednesday, January 6, 1932, at 2:00 p. m., following an operation due to an illness from which she had been suffering for the past year.
Margaret Agnes Puerner was born in Jefferson, Wis., November 18, 1858, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Puerner. Her early life was spent in Jefferson, where she made many friends. She was educated and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church. In 1877 she was married to Henry Bellman. During their married life they lived many years in Jefferson and for a short time in Baraboo, Wis. They moved to Fort Atkinson in 1892. She had made her home there since. Her life had been devoted to her children and kindness to her neighbors.
Mrs. Bellman is survived by five children, Mrs. W. G. Lloyd of Chicago, Ill., Edward L. Bellman of Rockford, Ill., John Bellman and Otto Bellman of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Frank W. Bellman of Evanstone, Ill. One child, Henry preceded her in death. Other survivors are four grand children, Lawrence, Adeline, Margaret and Gerald; eight sisters and brothers, John Puerner of Warren, Ohio, Heney and Martin of Jefferson, Mrs. Kate Meyer and Mrs. Elizabeth Loetz of Jefferson, Mrs. B. H. Straw of West Allis, Wis., Mrs. M. Heinz of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mrs. A. Thiele, Janesville, Wis.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Fort Atkinson, the Rev. Palmer Jahnke officiating. Interment took place in Union cemetery , Jefferson. Pallbearers were her nephews, Ed Meyer, John Loetz, Hubert Heinz, Wm. Puerner, George Purner and Albert Puerner."
