Hello
I am looking for information about the Dunham’s that were in Tennessee in Washington county around 1775 then moved to Nashville and were signers of the Cumberland Compact. There was a John Dunham sr. and John Dunham jr were signers of the Cumberland Compact. John Dunham Sr. had many children; John, Daniel, Henry, and Polly. John Dunham Sr. and many of his kids and grandchildren were killed fighting Indians in and around the Nashville area, but they lived were Belle Meade Plantation stands today. In fact the oldest cabin still standing is at the Plantation and was built by the Dunham family. I am trying to find out where they came from before the came to East Tn (then it was North Carolina). They served in the Militia during the Rev War and Joseph Dunham (Presumed to be John sr.s Brother) was a scout for Col Seiver.
I have lots of info, but even more questions>
