My father was born and raised near Hamburg. Growing up I heard from him that the name Duwel at one time meant Devil. I was always fascinated by that. Too bad that mystery is now gone!

I'm currently living in Holland (Dutch is similar to German) - where the name for Devil is Duivel. Quite close!.
