Jefferson, WI dated 2/21/1935
"Mrs. Elizabeth Loetz, pioneer Jefferson resident, died at her home at 1110 Park street at Jefferson last Thursday morning at 4:15 following an illness of about 2 weeks. She had reached the age of 84 years.
Elizabeth Puerner was born in Germany on Sept. 18, 1850, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Adam Puerner. At the age of 2 years she migrated to this country with her parents and settled in Jefferson. In 1871 her marriage to Joseph Loetz of Jefferson took place. Mr. Loetz preceding her in death about 18 years ago.
A kind and and loving mother, a friend to all in need, Mrs. Loetz was known as a cheerful and devout woman. Throughout her lifeling evidence in Jefferson she acquired a large circle of close friends who will join her relatives in mourning her demise.
Surviving are 2 sons. John of Jefferson and Frank of Milwaukee; 2 daughters, Mrs. Henry Zilm of Philadelphia and Mrs. Walter Rueckhelm of Bell Flower, California; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bert Straw of West Allis, Mrs. William Thiele of Janesville and Mrs. Martha Heinz of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; 3 brothers, Henry and Martin of Jefferson and John Puerner of Warren, Ohio, and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Loetz home, the Rev. O. Kuhlow officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jos. Beck, Frank Lenz, John Wollet, Fred Kippes, John Spangler and Matt Welter."
