You might look for the surname Lévesque. Leveck seems to be an alteration of Lévesque. The Lévesque family is quite big in Canada (especially in Québec).

Yes I know my third great grandfather is from Labardor canada. born in 1777. But I think his name was spelled at one time LeVee and later changed to Leveck. but yes it is worth a try.
thanks

I am not very sure of exact things in my ancestory, but I did have a Leveck in my background. I do not no the correct spelling or if this is even relevant to you, but it's worth a try. My ancestor's name was Rita Leveck(spelling unknown) and she lived in Quebec for some time before imigrating to New York. She was a native Canadian and was of the Mohawk tribe.

Looking for parents of Marie Laveck/LeVeck b.1810 Kingston Ontario, possibly Metis/Cree origins. There were, as well, Mohawk settlements near Kingston(United Empire Loyalists)

Is Ontario in Quebec? I think that I
spelled my ancestor's name wrong.
Does anyone know another spelling of a Mohawk
last name that sounds like Leveck. I know my
one relative's name was Rita.

Leveck

Sammy. Ontario and Quebec are two separate provinces. There are many spellings of Leveck such as Laveck,Levesque, LaVeque.

It is quite possible that the spelling of the
sur name was changed. My Grandfather's sur name is Levesque and was spelling was changed to Leveck when he joined the Armed Forces in the United States. I do know my family moved from Canada to Carribeu, Miane. During his tour in the Army he was station at Fort Ringold in Rio Grande City, Texas. Met my grandmother and settled in McAllen, Texas until his untimely death in the early 40's where he was buried under ground and died. Sorry did not mean to go on and on.
