I am trying to get info. on Nicholas Pashon or
Paschen who supposedly immigrated from France
or Belgium to IL before 1850. Also info. on wife
and children, especially Henry Pashon (as
spelled 1900 census) b.1850 IL. who married
Artilda Stowers.

Henry Pashon was my great grandfather. His son William
was my grandfather - William's son Charles was my
father. I don't have alot of the family history
(I'm just getting started) but I know who you
can contact - Maxine O'Brien. Henry was her
grandfather - her father was John.

She lives in Sterling Ill - address is:
408 7th Ave Sterling Ill 61081

phone: 815-625-1904

She has been working on the family history for some time
and can probably help you with some of the information
you need.

I'm sure she would be glad to get information
on Artilda also.

Are you related to Artilda? I know they are buried
around Kell Ill - but that's about all I do know.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have just begun my search as of today. I am curious about the connection between the two names. When searching, do I look for both? How are they connected? My father and grandfather were Robert SR and Robert JR Paschen of Buffalo NY and Port Clinton OH.
Please reply to the board or to my personal email. Thank you!

Any Paschen

This is my first day here. I'm not sure where
the replies are going. Paschen is my
married name, husband was Terry Paschen of
Little Valley, NY. He is deceased (1983)(
My boys Jeffrey and Brian are living in Little
Valley) I would like to start collecting some
family history for them. Their Grandfather
was William Paschen - also of L.V. There are
a lot of Paschen's around that area. I know
that the name was changed from the original
German spelling, but don't know the particulars.
Would enjoy conversing with you.

My Pashons were in IL. and surrounding states by 1850 or so.
I've found their named spelled Passion/Pachen/Pashon,etc. I also
have had a hard time finding anything in census reports, even when I
was fairly certain of where they lived at certain times! So you might
try Rootsweb search with alternate spellings soundex. Also, I've seen
an early Paschen reference that implied Dutch/German origin, but my Pashon
claimed Belguim as bp., though his son put France on later census for his
father's bp. I think Belguim is most probably correct (from the source himself).
I have also seen webpages of genealogy that claim Pashon was a corruption of
Bushong (I guess this would imply French origin?)- with time passage regional
dialects I suppose anything is possible! Hope this helps: if anyone would like to
search my Pashon line it's at http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/yvonneanspachwhite/TINKLE...
my email is ymw42@yahoo.com

I saw your message on the message board. Our family is from Monticello, Indiana. I was astonished when I saw your name, the same as mine. Paschen is my maiden name and I am now married. My grandfather was Leslie Paschen and my father is James. Hope to hear from you.

Our name...

Hi Leigh,
I've been away from the message boards for quite
a while. Do you have any connection to the
Paschen's in Cattaraugus County NY?
