Hello,
I'm looking for any info about this surname and what it may have possibly been changed to. In our family at has been changed to Volosky. I'm just beginning this family tree geneology thing and would appreciate any help or info in the best ways to go about finding reliable information. Thank you.

Hi Roxann. My maiden name is Wasilauskis, but believe it may have been Vasiliauskas originally. My father's family here in the states has all passed away. I too amlooking for info. Love to hear from you.

Hello Marion,
I am just starting to look up our family's geneology, so I don't have a lot of information. Our family settled in Pittsburgh, PA, to work in the steel mills. It was in this way that the name was "americanized." Our grandfather's Uncle Antonias gave his name to the person who was to write out payroll. When he said his name was Antonias Vasilauskas the secretary wrote down Tony Volosky and so it has been now for three generations. The Vasilauskas surname having been changed to several different "versions" does make it a little more difficult task to follow the geneology, but I am looking forward to the challenge and seeing where it leads. Thank you for your response to my message. Feel free to write again and please, share any info that you may receive on the Vasilauskas surname. Thank you again,
Roxann (willowstop@aol.com)

Did you check out any of the links on familyhistory.com? I found death notices of "Vasilauskas" and variations from all across the country ( even my uncle Peter's which was grossly mispelled) I didn't find it too helpful, but it was interesting

Bob,
I'm related to your Anderson connection, but have been looking at Vasilauskas surname. Was your grandpa Joe born in Wisconsin, too?

Would you like copies of the Anderson things I have collected? If you'd like to take this off-line, my e-mail is svtbo@attbi.com

Thanks
Ginny

Yes that is what I believe also. I would like to get more info on this subject also. My father believes it to be Vasilauskas or Vasiliauskas. Not sure though. I have been doing research and no turn ups yet.
