I don't have anything on a Mary Waxler, that married a George Davis. That doesn't mean they are not connected, they are a hard family to trace. Do you have any idea who her parents were, or where she was born?
Thanks for your help.

My Great-grandfather's name was Joseph Wexler.
The name was changed to Waxler and then some
changed it to Waxley. My Joseph Wexler came
from Germany. He settled in Louisiana. He received
his citizenship papers in Natchitoches, La. in the
1800's. If this sounds like it may be one of
the Waxlers let me know.

My Joseph was born in 1860 He died in 1920. His parents were George C. W. and his mother was Mava Brakebill. Most of them are from Ohio. He married Hannah Lockwood. in 1884.Does this sound like one of yours?

I am looking for Waxlers who moved from Virginia
to Ohio around 1800. I have a Thomas Waxler, born
1797 in Virginia. Married a Kerrenhappock Ayers. Died
in Muskingum, Ohio. I have a list of all of his
descendants. Most in Muskingum, Noble and Cambridge.
My g.grandmother was born to Alfred P. Waxler and
Catherine Whissel on 15 Nov 1858 in Guernsey Co. Ohio.
Her brother, George F. Waxler was a policeman in Cambridge
and died in Caldwell, Ohio. My g.grandmother was
Mattie Belle Waxler, born 1868, Mt. Ephriam, Ohio.
If anything sounds close, let me know.

Hello Peg, I saw a message of yours on a board at that I would like more information, if you will. Iam researching th DUNNO family name. The bulk of my discoveries so far are in the Ohio area. The mother of my Great Uncle is said to be Hannah (Anna) Lockwook. I believe she was married to my greatgreat granfather Alexander Dunno. One of your letters expressed confusion at a marriage lisence stating the name Hannah Lockwood while the mothers maiden on birth cert.s stated Hannah Dunno. That could very-well be the link I am looking for. Can you forward to me the Dates and County in which you found this data. I would love to research that Counties records myself. You can contact me at email or call me collect at (847) 891-2869 (Chicago suburb). I would appreciate this info very much, v-e-r-y m-u-c-h. Thank you, Tom Dunno

Liz, my information is limited, but this is what I have.
Barbara Waxler was born in 1800 (exact date unknown) in
Hampshire Virginia to Michael Waxler; born 1770 in Virginia
and died 1823 in Wayne, Ohio. Michael's wife was Sarah
(last name unknown) and she was born in 1771, maybe W. Virginia.
and she died between 1856 and 1860 in Musk. Co., Ohio
The parents of Micheal Waxler were Michael Waxler, b. 1749/1741 and
Anna Maria Miller, b. between 1740 and 1750.

Barbara Waxler married William Krigbaugh on 29 Feb. 1820.
Barbara died in 1872 in Muskingum, Ohio.

I hope this helps you. Email me at ""
if you have anymore questions.
