Anne Adire Adair m. Henry Maxey.

They were both born abt 1609 in Powhattan Co., Virginia.

I have further information on the Maxey lineage,, which is from a recently discovered relative through the Maxey / Moore connection.
But need further information on the Adair lineage if possible.

Perhaps if we go to a child of Henry and Anne Maxey (nee Adair) there may be a clue there ?

Son, William Maxey bc1625 mc1656 Elizabeth Palmer Johnson, Powhattan, VA who had son

Edward Maxey Sr. 1660-1727 m. Elizabeth Woodhouse.

Perhaps a connection with the Palmer family or Johnson families ?

I will keep this information and check things further when am able to.

I'm actually a descendant of the 'Moore" family. I believe that I'm 2nd great grandniece to Benjamin Franklin Moore, who married a 'Maxey'. Benjamin Franklin Moore, son of Luther Moore & Mary Jane Stewart, m. Julia Juda [Jude] Maxey September 11, 1879.

I recieved information from a descendant of Julia Maxey, on the Maxey lineage.

I have seen Maxey perhaps spelt several ways -

Maxey
Macey
Masey
Massey
Mase

Perhaps this may ring a bell somewhere ?

As I stated before,,

Julia Juda Maxey married Benjamin Franklin Moore.

I'm trying to get as much information on any of the families as possible. I've recieved quite a bit of information from
G. Maxey, whom I've found through this research to be related to me.

Please contact me at: LdyAnglEyz49@hotmail.com and specify the family name(s). All information is appreciated. Thank you.

Angl, Was your MAXEY shortened from MASSAREENE,
family of Clotworthy, Earl of Massareene ?
Massareene may have been shortened to Massy, Massey, Maxey.

Maree Moore who had a message on the Ireland - Down Co. board possibly may have further information.

Also in the "Belfast Newsletter" index # 188427 17-21 Jan 1783 (may be a little jumbled) -

Sold
MOORE William, Ardmore, co. Antrim leases
EARL OF MASSEREENE (Clotworthy), townland of Ballybraddin
MACARTNEY, Ardmore leases
chief-rent fee farm deed
McMULLAN John, Ballyhickleboyle
MOORE Mr, title deeds public sale.

Would you have found any Adairs ? Thankyou.

Hi Shirley,

I do have the following:

Anne Adire Adair, b. 1609 in Powhattan County, Virginia; m. Henry Maxey, [no date or place of marriage known to me at this time]. Henry Maxey, son of ---?--- Maxey & Unknown Mother's name,b. Abt. 1609 in Powhattan County, Virginia.

Children of Anne & Henry are:
William Maxey, b. 1625 in Powhattan County, Virginia; m. Elizabeth Palmer Johnson, 1656 in Powhattan County, Virginia.

My connection is through:

Benjamin Franklin Moore [son of Luther Moore & Mary Jane Stewart] & Julia [Juda] Maxey [daughter of Peter Maxey & Manerva [Minerva] Jane Fitzpatrick]. Children of Benjamin & Julia are unknown to me at this time.

If you would like more information on the Maxey's or related families, check postings of Glen Maxey. He seems to have extensive information.
Good luck!!
