Looking for more information on my Great grandmother Ann Elizabeth Wekekind born about 1850/1852 Stepney Middlesex. Her parents names were: John Frederick Wekekind born about 1812 and Mary Ann Fassenfeldt born March 27, 1827, they married Sept 5, 1847. Ann Elizabeth married Deidrick Heitman March 20, 1868. Her siblings were

Hope someone is looking for the same branch.

Surnames: Wedekind, Smith
Hi,

I have a George Wedekind in my family tree. He was born in 1844 in Hull, but later moved to and stayed in Liverpool. He initially married an Ellen Smith in 1865. Between them they had 5 children.

Later on he married Ellen's sister, Mary Ann Smith in 1891.

John Frederick Wedekind was uncle to George mentioned in the follow-up message.
In 1871, Mary Ann, daughter of John Frederick, was with Frederick and Ann Wedekind, George's parents.

A descendant of my Aykroyd family married George's son

Frederick Wedekind's wife was named Ann... an online researcher lists his wife as Ann Jellings, but I've not yet found confirmation of this.
Ann was born Robinhood's Bay in Yorkshire and their children Frederick William (<1840) and George (<1842) were born in Hull. They then moved to St George in the East, London where they had Christopher (<1845).

In 1841 the family lived in Sutton, Yorks. In 1851 they were in Mile End Old Town, London (Frederick sr not with the family). In 1861 (trascribed in Ancestry as Wadekind), they were in Liverpool, with them was nephew William, aged 23, born Hannover, Germany. In 1871, Frederick and Ann were in Toxteth Park, Liverpool with niece Mary Ann, aged 15 (daughter of John Frederick and Mary Ann Fussenfeldt).

George Wedekind married Ellen Smith. Their son Christopher George (1875) married Ethel Otty. I have her ancestry back a few generations, as her great grandfather, John James Aykroyd is my GGGG grandfather.

This thread has increased a bit of a conundrum I've got lol

I'm descended from Wedekins from Hildesheim in Germany.

My ancestor, Elise Wedekin married a Scottish man.. her brothers and sisters were:

Maria Wedekin
Maria Magdalena Wedekin
Johann Wedekin
Franziska (Wedekin) Meyer
Sophia Wedekin
Carl Wilhelm Wedekin
Carl Gustav Wedekin
Friedrich Wedekin
Anna Wedekin

The above Johann Wedekin's full name is Johann Theodor Friedrich Wilhelm Wedekin... and I wondered if this could have been him:

... which... led me to your thread.. I wonder if there's some link?
