Does anyone know if there are genealogists/researchers for hire in Trinidad?

I am trying to obtain a couple of birth records - but since I don't live there - I am running into a brick wall. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!!

Three years ago I was in email contact with a genealogist in Trinidad by the name of Shamshu Deen.His email address was shamshu.roots@gmail.com Whether or not he is still in business I have no idea. I did not hire him - his rates were too steep for me.

It appears from the T&T govt website at http://www.ttconnect.gov.tt/gortt/portal/ttconnect
that it is impossible to apply for a Birth Certificate without local assistance. No wonder the local genealogists are high-priced!

This is good information to have. I am going to be hitting the same wall with some of the research I am doing. I may just have to hop a plane to T & T myself. ;)
