My ggg grandfather Shepherd BEAVINS b. 1814 South Carolina. My grandmother has put together an extensive geneaology back to "Old Shep". Please e-mail me if you're interested in exchanging information. I'm trying to find info prior to Shepherd. He married a Rebecca Conder/Condor from Kentucky. I'm at

Recently got hold of g-mothers Bible. Names go back as far as Henry Bivin 1803 md. Elizabeth Jenkins. Name has changed through the years to Bivins. Would love to compare notes if any of these names sound a match. Amos, McHenry, Eliz, Elizabeth Chares W., Thomas H., Martha J. Cynthian. Dates range from 1003-1848. More recent names Osie Mae, Mary Alice, Claud Ross, John Albert, Effie Beatrice William my mother Baby Ruth Bivins DOB Jan. 26,1931 passed Dec. 11,1990. My Bivins line grew near Ohio River, mainly Evansville In. to Hopkins Co. Ky to Aurora Il.. Odd names stick out are Threodocia Osabel, Buma, Viskel (the best I can make out). If anyone has anything similiar very interested in exchanging info.. Good luck to all! This is not easy for us who are new and learning.!!

Hi! My great-great-grandmother was Gracie Ann Bivins, born on 8/11/1855 to Benjamin Robert Dunn, born 5/7/1855. They were married 11/20/1873 in Clarksville, TN, but later moved to Todd County, KY., where they lived until they died. Robert died 1/2/33 and Gracie died 10/10/1902. I'm looking for info on great-grandmother told me she was a full-blooded American Indian (I have her dark eyes, she said!) I'd like to know tribal affiliation.

I have been researching my direct forefathers named Bivins. The 5th generation back Nathaniel Bivins was born in Kenton County, KY Aug 27, 1825. Brothers sisters were: George; James; John; Joseph; Bonaparte; Susan; Manerva. I found a Samuel Bivins in the Covington, KY library who could have been Nathaniel's father but could not prove for certain. He moved to a farm north of Indianapolis and married Amanda Mooney; they had a son named Mark Anthony born Aug 20, 1852 in Tipton, IN. After serving in the Union Army he moved to Kansas. Nathaniel had a son named Mark Forest who was my grandfather.
