Hello,
Other information I ran across on the internet says that Lott Ridgedell m. Sally Dyches in St. Tammany Parish, La. and she was the widow of Barden DYCHES/DYKES, of War of 1812 from Louisiana fame. Others listed in same Reg. were Dennis, Isaac, William along with Barden Dyches/Dykes/Dyche. I have found others also link all of this line back thru SC and the Carolinas to one George Dyche in Alexandria, Va. records. My interest is in The child of Lott Ridgedell/Sally Smith Dyches; Teressa Jane who was b. 1816 in St. Tammany, La.

Thank you for the reply. Does your information say Teressa was born in Liverpool, England? The IGI has that information and it conflicts with her being the daughter of one Lott Ridgdell from SC. The Heath and Ridgedell family married into a couple of my lines in MS. and just trying to clear up the differences. Thank you. Leslie

I have not found any information other than the LDS saying Teresa was from England, I believe she wasn't. Most English Ridgdells are from Yorkshire, and unless Lott traveled abroad, Teresa was born in either Louisiana or Mississippi. The IGI file also had Sarah Smith as from England, and we know she was widow of Borden Dyches, who was a veteran of the War of 1812, on the U.S. side. As you may have noticed, many LDS members have erroneous information on their files, I have found lots of mistakes there.I know of other family groups of mine who have ancestors sealed in the Temple who were never married to each other.

Paul. Thank you for the reply on Teressa Jane Ridgdell. I was wondering if you have Dyche/Dykes information? I see many of that name in the early La. records along with Ridgedell from SC. There is a Josiah, Jr m. Lucinda Taliaferro who went from NC to MS to Williamson Co., Tx. Who does Josiah Dyches, Jr and Sr. belong to? Like I said, just putting the families together. Many thanks. Leslie

I haven't really done much work on Dyches, there were several in Orangburg SC, I will look around and see if I find anything on the Josiah lines.
