I am looking for the ancestors of James William Gunning, b about 1854, of Newtownards, County Down, Ireland. He married a Jessie Hill of Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Dunedin, New Zealand on the Cartsburn. Please E-Mail me with any information. Thanks,Lyn.

I was interested in your gunning tree. don't know if any relation. My grandfather was William James Gunning from Newtonards Ireland. Any othe connetions that might link them. He was born 1903. Let me know thank you.

I'm sorry I havent come across your William James Gunning born 1903 yet, Catherine, my Gunnings, one of them was a William James was born in New Zealand in 1876. Good Luck with your search. Lyn Chiles

My Gfather James Paul Gunning born in Salem NJ about 1880. His parents: James Ambrose Gunning and Hannah Shea. I don't know much else, any connection?

Hi saw your request was very interested. my family was from newtonards, spent holildays there. I am trying to get info on my grandfather, william james gunning he was married july 1903. I am originally from glasgow scotland. heard stories about my great grandmother going to new zealand. If you have any conection I would appriciate. Thank You

I've noticed some similar names in your family. My Gfather was James Paul Gunning born in Salem NJ or in the State of Delaware about 1880. His parents were James Ambrose Gunning and Hannah Shea. Any connection?

re James Gunning& Jessie Hill who went to New Zealand 1872 later after 1891 they were joined by Thomas Gunning who was my great granda,he left his wife Annie, his daughter Mary and his son William James in Scotland,Annie and Mary went back to Newtonards Co Down,William James returned to Ireland to marry in 1903 to Janet Mcmillan they returned to Scotland with thier son James they had 6 children 1 died my dad was William Mcmillan Gunning 1909-1982.Any information on any of these Gunnings would be appreciated by me and some of my cousins

Hello, I am trying to see if there may be a connection. My Grt Gdth Thomas gunning from Newtonards went to New Zealand we do not know why? He was married to Ann McCafferty.All I have is a document dated April 1908 that said he was in New Zealand his wife was in Ireland. Can you be of any help. Thank you.
