Stephen Arlington Kerstetter of 2201 Tawney Road, Ottawa, Ontario KIG IC3, has written much information about the family. The information is fully documented back to 1639.Most of the history is about the family when they lived in the Northumberland/Snyder County area. I got my information from the Snyder County Historical Society.

Surnames: Bixler, Ditchfield

My great aunt Caroline (Ditchfield) Bixlerwas born in Trevorton, Northumberland County in 1869 and lived near the old Coal Township high school. Could she be related? Also, a Donald Bixler lived on First Street, Shamokin, just down the hill from my Aunt Carrie. Is he a member of your family? Heard he was living here in California, but haven't located him.

My grandmother - Alda kerstetter Graybill was born on 8-25-1917 to William kerstetter who was from Millersburg, Pennsylvania. He later moved to Canada - Her mother was not married to William and no family records exist. We come to a "dead" end everytime we try to seach. Do you have any record of a William Kerstetter. Possibly died in the 60's or 70's. Supposed to be buried in a Montreal, Canada. May have been a member of the Canadian Police. My mother has tried to search in Canada for cemetaries. Can't find anything. Do you know anything or where I can look?

I have 2 Williams in my file. One looks fairly promising. He was born 27 Apr 1889 to Francis Kerstetter and Sarah Henninger in Northumberland County. On his 1917 WWI draft registration he says he has a wife and is living in Calumet County, Wisconsin. After that I don't see him in the US and Canadian census is only published up until 1911. Don't know if that's him. Maybe you could check records in Wisconsin?
