I am looking for the parents of Elizabeth Litch born in 1845 Indiana - family moved to Iowa then to Kansas where she married. Her father was born in Baden and mother in Bavaria. She and her husband Frederick Hoberg had 9 children - 8 lived: Mary Kate "Annie", Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy", Robert Lee, George Frederic, Louisa, Rosa W., Nellie Caroline, John Henry Herman Hoberg. She died at the young age of 35 of heart problems.

I'm R. Litch, South Dakota. Elizabeth's possible parents were Michael Litch and Francheska Kochert, m. about 1854 in Harrison, Indiana.

Hi R. Litch. Thank you7 for your reply. I was leaning towards Michael and Franceska, but my Elizabeth Litch was born in 1845, so that couldn't be them. I've found that her sister Mary spelt her name as Litsch. Mary was born in abt. 1836 in KY. So far I've found they were in Indiana after Ky., and before Missouri and Kansas, they were in Iowa.

I'm assuming that you have the coresponding census's for your information. I traced "backwards", a Howard Litch from Galina, KS., born in 1906. His father, was a Thomas Litch from Indiana, born 1875. Is this anything close to what you have? Would really like to compare notes.

This is what I have found so far. My Elizabeth Litch born in Indiana in 1845. This is odd, as her sister Mary Litsch was born in Kentucky in 1839. Elizabeth married Frederick Hoberg in Warren, Missouri. She passed away in 1880, before that census was taken. I can only find her on the 1870 Fed. census in KS, KS census for 1865, and on the 1875 KS census she states the previous state she was in before KS was Iowa. It looks as though she did have a couple of brothers possibly living in Missouri. So now I'm a little confused on why she went by Litch and her sister Litsch. Thank you for your help rlitch1. P.S. Her father was from Baden and mother Bavaria.
