Ernest Lee Vest

Funeral for Ernest Lee Vest, 67, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Wright officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Vest died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, he was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Vest of Hartselle; three sons, Ernest Eugene Vest, Kenneth Dwayne Vest and David Vest, all of Decatur; one step son, Mark Haywood of Hartselle; one daughter, Brenda Louise Vest of Decatur; two step daughters, Tracy Annette Slate and Patsy Robin Haywood, both of Hartselle; three brothers, Howard Ray Vest of Decatur, Charles E. Vest of Hartselle and Ronnie G. Vest of San Francisco, Calif.; five sisters, Lorene Harvell and Ruby Dyar, both of Decatur, Marie Kelley of Athens, Linda Cothern of Hulaco and Ruth Garner of Massey; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mal Patterson, Bobby Halbrooks, Sammy Larimore, Chris Cobbs, Scott Cobbs and Rex Ward.
James Rabon 'Jim' Martin

Funeral for James Rabon "Jim" Martin, 70, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines, Barry Binion and Mike Nix officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Priceville Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Martin died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Walker County, he was retired from Cullman Products as a tool and die designer. Mr. Martin was the father of the late Curtis Wayne Martin and the brother of the late J.V. Martin, Charles Clifford Martin and June Frost. He was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and minister of various area Churches of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Whitlow Martin of Hartselle; two sons, Michael Rabon Martin of Helena and Stevon Lynn Martin of Hillsboro; two daughters, Donna Martin Glenn of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Cindy Martin Reeder of Hartselle; his stepfather, C. Onzolo Abbott; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clarence Walls, Don Wear, Cliford Lee, Gene Hayes, Willard Coffee and Kenneth Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers were elders and deacons of Hartselle Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to the Hartselle Church of Christ Benevolent Program.
David F. Wright

Funeral for David F. Wright, 61, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milton Garrison officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Wright died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, he was a truck driver for 32 years, the last five for the Morgan County Farmers Co-op, and was a dedicated farmer and avid gardener in his later years. Mr. Wright was the father of the late Frank Wright and Tommy Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Linda J. Wright of Hartselle; two sons, Joe W. Wright of Falkville and James D. Featherolf of Cartersville, Ga.; one daughter, Erica Vaughn of Cartersville, Ga.; three sisters, Carolyn Brock of Decatur, Ola Mae Coleman of Athens and Dean Wright of Sun City Center, Fla.
Pallbearers were Ed Brock, Mark Coleman, Steven Smith, Robby Stephens, Daniel Vaughn and Douglas Wright.
Robert L. 'Bob' Sitton

Funeral for Robert L. 'Bob' Sitton, 73, of Somerville was Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Gilbreath officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Sitton died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Sunbridge Rehabilitation in Fayetteville, Tenn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Eston Sitton of Valhermoso Springs; three sons, Kenneth Sitton and Gil Sitton, both of Somerville and Robert Ester Sitton of Umatilla, Fla.; one daughter, Cordelia Eston Orr of Umatilla, Fla.; one brother, Silas Eugene Sitton of Birmingham; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Gertrue Junkins Lee

Funeral for Gertrue Junkins Lee, 89, of Falkville was Sunday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Lee died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Falkville Health Care Center. A native of Morgan County, she was a homemaker and a member of Danville Baptist Church. Her parents died when she was a child and her sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Lelton Kilpatrick, reared her to adulthood. Mrs. Lee was the widow of Arthur Lee and the sister of the late J.D. Junkins, Cecil Junkins, Nova Kilpatrick, Lavenia Hicks, Dorothy Clark and Beulah Kilpatrick.
She is survived by three sons, Dr. Arthur Lee Jr. of Columbia, Mo., Dr. Max W. Lee of Dallas, Texas and Ted D. Lee of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Edna Earle James of Danville and Linda Taylor of Hartselle; one sister, Loree Quattlebaum of Cullman; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Allen Lee, Bennett Lee, Glenn Lee, Jonathon Lee, Steven Lee, Tim Lee, John Mayfield, Dwight Taylor and Troy Taylor.

Daisy Lee Taylor

Funeral for Daisy Lee Taylor, 88, of Eva was Monday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stan Graves officiating.
Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Marshall Medical Center North. A native of Etowah County, she worked as a cook and waitress. Mrs. Taylor was the widow of William Issac Taylor and the mother of the late William Lewis Taylor.
She is survived by three sons, Donnie Taylor, J.D. Taylor and Robert Taylor, all of Texas; six daughters, Linda Greer and Brenda Jester, both of Somerville, Betty Kanady of Cullman, Seeyilla Chatam of Eva, Mary Jane Elrod of Texas and Christine House of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 36 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Joe G. Cook

Funeral for Joe G. Cook, 75, of Birmingham was Friday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rod Morgan officiating.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Cook died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at his residence. He was a retired captain of Birmingham Fire and Rescue after 30 years of service and a retiree of Beatrice Foods. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and served in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Smith Cook of Birmingham; two sons, Joe E. (Rusty) Cook and Scott Cook, both of Birmingham; one sister, Marsha Luter of Hartselle; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were grandsons.

Funeral for Linda Kay Lee, 58, of Decatur was Monday, Jan. 14, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Culotta officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Hills Burial Park and Memorial Gardens in Canton, Ohio.
Mrs. Lee died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Ohio, she worked as a sales representative with Delta Airlines. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Lee of Decatur; two daughters, Jennifer Petron of Monroe, Conn. and Kris Staudt of Hartselle; her mother, Eleanor Kopf of Coral Springs, Fla.; and one sister, Judy Brogden of Coral Springs, Fla.

Micah died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Oct. 14, 2001 in Decatur.
He is survived by his parents, Benjamin T. Waple and Amanda Carol Smith, both of Decatur; grandparents, David and Debbie Waple and Jennifer Smith, all of Decatur; great grandparents, Irma Heim and Marilyn Gibbs, both of Taylor, Mich., Carolyn Ledlow of Ardmore, Sonny Smith of Eva, Freddie and Wanda Hailey of Hartselle, Rachel Self of Trinity and great great grandmother, Carrie Ledlow of Hartselle.
