Your query mentioned the surname BLAKE. I am looking for information on a GREENVILLE BLAKE (1833-1914), married CHARLOTTE COOPER 11/4/1860, and had 7 children, William S., Elizabeth, Selia, Mary E., Dollie, Barbara, and Syntha, all born between 1863 and 1879. Any connection to your BLAKE?

I talked with my mom, but those names do not sound familiar at this time, although if they were in Curry county, it would be my guess they could have something to do with our Blakes. I dont have the info right in front of me, but the Blake I am thinking of Married a Ruby Costelloe, could be your Blakes were a Brother or Cousin to ours...will have to do some more checking and find this out for sure.

I know the Blake house was turned into the museum down there. I have visited it a few times.

Will try to find out more and let you know

Val

Hi Valerie, Ran across your post. Wondered if any of the following sounded familiar to your family? SEARCHING FOR A RUBY BLAKE WHO MARRIED OR WAS INVOLVED WITH A JAMES OR JIMMY (?) LEBLANC IN THE 1940'S. SHE WAS BORN IN 1921. BOTH ARE FROM TEXAS. SHE IS FROM GALVESTON, AND HE IS FROM HOUSTON. POSSIBLY MOVED TO CALIFORNIA AFTER THEY MARRIED. VERY IMPORTANT FAMILY INFORMATION THAT NEEDS TO BE RELAYED TO THEM REGARDING THEIR CHILD JIMMY WAYNE BLAKE, BORN MAY 24, 1940. THANK YOU, MELANIE FALLO-SMITH

p.s. Is this Blake House the one in New Orleans?

Im sorry I did not get back to you on your posting. I must have missed it some how. Our Ruby (Costelloe) Blake was born in 1873. So far I only have Blakes in Oregon, and I think they go back to New Hampshire. So I dont think I can be of any help. As for the Blake house I was refering to is in Curry county, Oregon. Sorry again. Good Luck
Val

you have more then I do, as Forgey is not a direct line for me. William Riley Snodgrass Married Elizabeth Forgey.

William Riley Snodgrass was my Gr Gr Grandmothers brother. Elizabeth Forgey was several generations down from Andrew and Margaret Forgey, so I dont have much even on Andrew and Margarets family...while doing genealogy we tend to take everything we can get even if they are related in a round about way. Sorry I couldnt be of more help!
