Looking for info. on T.J. Anderson b. Buckingham Co., Va. July 10, 1807. His parents were supposedly William Anderson and Nancy F. Farrar. His step mother Elizabeth Leake. T.J. married Sarah Jane Thomas June 19, 1833 in Nelson Co., Va. and he died there on Aug. 20, 1883. Their children were:

Mary Eliz. b. ca. 1835
William James b. March 13, 1836 m. Dollie Damron
Sarah Jane b. Feb. 4, 1839 m. John J. Witt
Susan Frances b. ca. 1842, d. Dec. 1, 1871
Nancy F. b. ca. 1844; m. Addison Burton
Robert Thomas b. Sept. 10, 1847, m. Lois M. Damron; d. Oct.15, 1916
Samuel Leake b. July 20, 1850; m. Susan J. Carter; d. July 22, 1932

My line continues through Robert Thomas Anderson. I am interested in any connected lines. Thanks, Debra

I have a William F. Anderson in my line. Born about 1833 in Loudon Co. VA. We believe his mother was a Nancy and that he and his mother moved to Ohio before the Civil War. Could this William be a brother to your TJ?

Unfortunately, he is not TJ's brother. I now have information that proves that Nancy Farrar Anderson was his mother and that she died ca. 1812/13. Her husband William Anderson remarried to Elizabeth Leake in Albemarle Co. and they continued to reside in Buckingham Co., Va. Thanks for the query! Good Luck!

Do any of you have information on Dolly F Anderson, daughter of William Anderson and Dolly Faris Dameron?

Yes, Dolly or Doratha or Dorothy Anderson was the daughter of Leland Dameron (or Damron) and Susannah Powell. The Dameron/Damron family married into the Anderson family a few times. William's brother, Robert Thomas Anderson (and my line) married Dolly's sister, Lois Manda Damron. I have photos of Lois and her younger sister Hadassah, but none of Dolly. Dolly was William Anderson's second wife. His first married a cousin, Celia Moss (Celia's parents were Alexander Moss and Susan Anderson Moss - Susan being Thomas Jefferson Anderson's sister). Dolly was born ca. 1844 and died Aug. 11, 1876 in Nelson Co., Va of dispepsia (I think it was a bowel disorder). She married William Anderson Jan. 22, 1866.

Interesting, i didn't know about the first wife, Celia Moss. William Anderson and Dolly Dameron were my husband's great grandparents. Their son, William Floyd, is his grandfather. The person i have been trying to find information on was William Floyd Anderson's sister. she was named after her mother, and i find her and her sister, Nannie in the Miller Orphan Home in Lynchburg in 1880. I found a document in 1890 where Dolly sold her share of inherited property (from Leland Dameron)to her Aunt Lois. But nothing after that on her. i can't find a death record, marriage record, nothing!

I will keep looking, and thanks for the reply.

Becky

Becky - here is what I have on Dolly Jr. - born in Nelson co., Va Nov. 22, 1872 or June 20, 1869 - for some reason, two dates were listed on records found by other researchers. Dollie died Aug. 6, 1895 in Virginia at 22 years of age. She married a Mr. Johnson or Johnston. When her parents died, Samuel L. Anderson and John J. Witt became her guardians, per Guardian Bond, Fiduciary Book 1, page 585, filed March 22, 1880. According to Charles C. Anderson, son of Samuel L. Anderson, The F stood for Fearis or Farrar.

oh my gosh, thank you. that would have taken me a long time (if ever) to find. My husband and i were at the Library of Virginia this past weekend and i did find her birth record, November 22, 1873. Do you know how she died?

I found William Anderson living with the Moss's in the 1860 ccensus. I guess he and Cecelia were not married more than a coupleof years? Do you know if they had any children?

this record could say 1872, not 1873. VERY hard to read it. Born the same year as Sallie Anderson, daughter of Lois and Robert.

Yes, he was married to Cecelia only a few years. The whole Moss family disappears after the 1860 census, so there must have been an epidemic or maybe events in the Civil War which caused their deaths. The only sibling of Cecelia's I find in the records is Lucy Moss who married John Sutton Oct. 24, 1865. No record of any children. In fact, I only made the connection because of family history passed down - no records exist. Would love to correspond more. I've done a lot of work on this line. My e-mail is fortlong@embarqmail.com
