As are we all. He seems to be a dead end, however Bob Bovee [maryjb@email.msn.com] has a copy of an article in the Jan 1991 issue of The American Genealogist. It is about an indentured Frenchman named Mathieu Boifils who signed on to work 3 years for Jacques Leber. He left France Apr 1678. Catherine Barrois, Mattys Bovee's wife's mother was Anne LeBer.

This is only about the third or fourth time on this computer. Just started to try to find out about my family. All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bill Bovee. If Jerome came over in 1663, his wife must have stayed in France, as Matthys supposedly was b 1664 in France. Is that right or where do I have it wrong? Thanks Fred,

Bill

I suspect that Matthys was born before 1664 since the court cases were ajudicated in 1683, when he would have only been 19.

Hey Fred,
I think we are looking at an apple and an orange. Two different Matthias Bovee b 17 Jan 1765, and Matthys Bofi, Beaufilis, Bovie b 1664. The latter Bovee Matthys Bofi 1664 was the one married to Catherine Barrois. The Matthias Bovee b 1765 was married to Elizabeth Wilson. This Bovee was my GG Grandfather. The 1765 Bovee's father was Abraham Bovee b 1728 in Albany, NY, his Spouse was Sarah Cool. That is how I found it on that world tree place.
Stay in touch,
Bill Bovee
