I can't help you but am hoping you might be able to help me. I am looking for info on Jacob Mary Lotz. They immagrated from Germany with their son Jacob and there was also a Granddaughter, Merrium. I am not sure of the spelling of her name. They settled in the Lima area. Jacob and his second wife, Anna Neeley, had two sons, Frank Albert and Clarence Lutz. You will notice the spelling change. Jacob died when Frank Albert was about two. Frank told us about Merrium and said he only saw her once. Grandpa is dead now but my mother would like to try to find her cousins if there are any.

Anna: The only Jacob Lotz I have come across so far lived in New York from 1845 to at least 1854, and was a shoemaker. Many Lotz' seemed to have lived there before moving west. I don't know if this might also have been the situation with the family you are researching.

I just recently learned that Frederick James Lotz came to Mo. by way of Ohio.. This is the first clue i haved had in finding out how my clan came to Mo. He came from Ohio and lived in a small town called "Marceline" MO. Most of our history will be found in St. Joseph MO.I'm searching for his Birth place and his death location. I understand he was a confederate soldier and died in the war. he married a Mary L Lovett. Frederick James Lotz will be my Great Great Grandpa. Mary l Lovett(Fredericks wife) was borned 1858.

Do you know if Fredrick James Lotz had any relatives or a brother names Henry? Henry Lotz was my great-grandfather and lived in Sandusky Ohio. He was born in Prussia, and I am still trying to find out if he came to America alone or with family. He lived in NY for several years before moving to Sandusky.

Thank you, I am looking for my mother's great aunt. I guess my grandfather's dad had a daughter, Merrium (not sure I am spelling it right) that his parents and him came from Germany with. My grandfather remarried Anna Neeley and he died when grandpa was young. Grandpa only meet Merrium once when he was selling brooms door to door with his brother and she told them she was their sister. We would like to know is if here a branch out there so we could invite them to the family reunion. I would like to find out before my mother dies.

I believe that Jacob Lotz in Iron County Missouri in 1870 is the same as the Jacob Lotz Jr in Parma Township Cuyahoga County Ohio in 1850. He appears to have had two wives. Jacob Jr. is the son of Jacob Lotz of Independence, Cuyahoga County in 1850. They came to this country from Bavaria in 1838 and were naturalized in the Cuyahoga County courts. I think this is the family of my gggrandmother but have not been able to prove it yet.
