Dear Family: My name is Carmelita Fay Jadusingh-Smith AKA, Sheila. I was born in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies. My father is Arthur Jadusingh and my mother is Clarice Jadusingh AKA, Betty. My father is one of Thomas Jadusingh’s sons. I attended Whitfield Primary School at 20 Whitfield Avenue Kingston 13, Jamaica W.I. My brother Vincent, my sister, Valerie and I met Barbara and Donald Jadusingh while attending that school and years later we met Ronald Jadusingh and his sister. I went to Wallgrove College.

This is what I know to be factual? There were four brothers and one sister who came to Jamaica from India with their parents, Baboo and his wife Marie (she was blind). They were:1) Robert Jadusingh, 2) Thomas Jadusingh, 3) Beam, 4) a brother (I do not know his name, he was a Parson and decided to change his name to Paharsingh), and 5) one sister, Maya.

The Jadusinghs were merchant jewelers. I believe some of their children and grandchildren were also jewelers. On my father side of the family, the family was divided and disowned by one of his uncles, Robert. For reasons that I will not divulge on this site, Thomas was disowned. Thomas’ children were Michael, Vernon, Cecil, Pearline, Arthur and James Manley Jadusingh. Only Arthur (my father) and James are still with us. We grew up not knowing the rest of the family. This is a shame, but now 85 years later, God has granted us the chance to bring the family together.

My understanding is Robert Jadusingh had owned Rhine Estate in St. Thomas Jamaica and was accidentally killed by his tractor. I do not know much about Robert’s children but later found out that he has several of them. I had the opportunity to meet one of his daughters while working at The Jamaica West Indies Containers Located at Bell Road in Kingston 11. I do believe that one of his sons, Emmanuel had 40 children, and slowly we are slowly finding one another through the Internet.

I cannot tell you how very pleased I am. I am a family oriented person and would like to know more. My father has provided me with a lot of information.

The Jadusingh family has grown tremendously and I am hosting a Family Reunion in July 2003 for my father and his brother James Manley Jadusingh from Wales (UK) to reunite with each other after sixty years. Each thought they were the only one alive but because of modern technology there will be a happy reunion between the two brothers. If any would care to, please share with me your address, email and telephone number so I can send you information on the reunion. This is a chance for us to meet, greet and share ideas with each other. What started out as seven individuals who migrated to Jamaica has turned into a very large family.

Well I have heard from my family all along that my grandfather (name unknown to me) was killed by a tractor, that he was a wealthy man, and that my grandmother (Dorothy Jadusingh) was disinherited by him for reasons I will not speculate on here. This was confirmed when I met her side of the family some years ago in Florida, and found they were wonderful but very wealthy and very separated from my grandmother. Dorothy is married to Lloyd Rogers (Scotch/English) and has seven children from him, two children, Pauline and a son from a black man. My mother is one of Dorothy and Lloyd's children. There is much to this story that fascinates me, and I hope anybody with information can help clarify. Though the my great-grandfather's death was labeled accidental, I have always heard that this was open to speculation.

Hello, my name is Ryan Jadusingh brother of Ravi and Kamini Jadusingh. My father is Inderman (Ronald Jadusingh) son of Robert Henry Jadusingh, who is the son of Baboo and Marie. From what i can tell, everything you have here is correct, Robert had brothers bheam thomas and paharsing and sister maya. I can shed alot of light on the descendants of my grandfather Robert- of which my brother and my grandmother have compiled quite a detailed family tree. Robert had 11 children with his first wife, Alice, and two with his second wife myrtle. I would like to get the tree into some computer format, but am not sure whats the best at this point. Keep checking this message board if you are interested in seeing/adding to the tree.

Surnames: Shelley-Ann Burns
Hi, my name is Shelley-Ann Burns grand daughter of Sat Jadusingh. My mothers maiden name is Elizabeth Jadusingh also known as Lyn or Betty. We live in Pembroke Pines and throughout the years have kept in touch with Rowland Jadusingh and his wife Sabina. I honestly don't know much about the Jadusingh family outside of my mothers siblings, but I would like to know more.
