I think we may have a family connection. My gg grandfather was John Curley. He had a brother named James, who had 3 sons named Patrick, Daniel, and Micheal. Micheal's son was James Curley, the mayor of Boston.Let me know if this makes any sense to you.

My gggrandfather, Thomas Clancy's sister Sarah Clancy married Michael Curley, father of James Michael Curley (Mayor of Boston). Both the Curley's and the Clancy's came from county Galway. Thomas's son Patrick Clancy married Catherine Ambrose who was "courted by James. James evetually became the godfather of catherine and Patrick Clancy's son Edward Clancy, brother of my grandfather James Ambrose Clancy from Lowell, MA. If you are from this line, please contact me.
Thank you. Arline

Looking for information on Patrick Curley from Boston, (originally from Ireland)He married Mary Meehan and had a least 2 daughter, Catherine and Mae. Catherine was born in 1879 so Patrick was probably born in the 1850 area.

this is a reply to arline. My family is Galway Curleys also but I do not know if any kin to the famous James Michael. Since my father was from east galway I am guessing that is where his Curleys came from.
