I'm a Minnesota Vernier. Not sure if I'm a true Vernier, as my great grandpa I believe was an orphan we may have taken on a name. Mom's name was Bonnie (I've never met her), dad is Daryl. Grandma (dad side) is Rose Burkhardt. Grandma on Mom's side is Marge I think. Uncle's Cletus, Delford. Aunt's Rachel Carol. 13 kids total from that generation. Any directions with this one??

Hi Bryan, I knew a young guy -Del Vernier lived in North Minneapolis and had a sister "Flossie" He was part French and had very dark brown or black hair, was slender and very good looking. He was in his late teens or early 20's and ran with a bunch of "50's" type hoods. Is this someone you might be related to? Write me This was in mid 1950's.

My name is Elizabeth (Memmer) Bean....I'm 41. I have three brothers and a sister (My brothers are Philip Memmer, Joseph Memmer, Jonathan Memmer and I have one sister, Stephanie Ballantine). My dad is Fredrick J. Memmer, my mom is Exilda (Vernier) Memmer. From the same family you are searching. My mom's mother's name is Rose Burkhardt. My mom's father's name was Sandford? Vernier, but like you said, I think he was an orphan....so it's hard to find anything on him. I want to know more about the family. My mom is Daryl's sister. Her sisters are Clarice (deceased), Florence, Carol, Rachel, (there was a sister that died at a young age--I can't think of her name). She has brothers named Cletus, Delford, Daryl of course, but I can't remember the others. Two of the brothers are deceased. I think possibly the names are Richard (the oldest) and another one or two. I live in NW Wisconsin. My mom, Exilda is 66 years old, but never says much about the family. I think it was a hard life growing up. Any information you can send me would be greatly appreciated. My email is lzbean@grantsburgtelcom.net

Hi Diane:
This too is my mother's family. Delford was my mother's brother. My mom (her name is Exilda) rarely if ever talks about any family history and I'm trying to find out more about her family. My aunt is "Flossie" -- (Florence). I only really knew my aunt Clarice (Flossie's sister), who is now deceased. The family was very large. Lots of brothers and sisters. Any info you could send me would be appreciated. Do you know what other nationality besides French the family could be? My mom always told me she was "all French." I don't know. Please help if you can. Thanks!

Liz

Dear Ms Bean, Perhaps you are not on this board any longer. Myself, stopped searching for a couple of years. When I knew Del and Flossie, I was only 16 and had a boyfriend who was friends with Del. My information is pretty scanty but here it is. Del and Flossie were French Canadian, they lived in a very poor section of town and I was from the other side of the tracks. We made contact when I ran away from home and they gave me a place to stay for a few days. As I remember Del, he was very attractive as I mentioned before. Flossie was older than he and had a fuller figure. We did not have much in common with each other. Del served time in the Minnesota Youth Conservation System, also probably the state prison as that is what happened to most of the guys he hung with including my old boyfriend, Bob Richardson. People change and he was older than I, so he is probably retired by now. Your best bet would be to look up the census records of the 1950's for Minneapolis, Minn. Hope this helps some and no offense taken regarding this information.
Regard, Diane Enfield

No offense taken. This is my mother's family. Del is her brother and Flossie (Florence) is her sister. My mom is Exilda. They had a big family and were very poor and dysfunctional. My mom doesn't talk much about her childhood, not at all. I don't know anything so I was trying to find out what I could. Did you know their mother? I think my mom doesn't talk about the childhood because she doesn't actually want us kids to know how bad she had it. Any other info you could give me would be appreciated. My mother married my dad in 1958 or 1958. My dad has been very good to her. She hasn't had to work a day in her life. He is very successful. I wish my mom would talk more about what happened to them all as kids. I wouldn't know Del or Flossie if I saw them. We have never ever been close to my mom's side of the family. Not at all. So much so that my grandmother on that side doesn't even seem like my grandma. She just seems like some lady. Well thanks for your time.

Hi Roxanne:
Hey, e-mail me at my home address with your home e-mail address. Wow, weird, we're cousins and we don't even know each other. I don't know anything about my mom's side of the family but would love to know more. Any info you could provide would be great. My mom never says much at all about her life growing up. I've just been curious.

Thanks for contacting me.

Liz
