I am searching for information on a Magdelena Ennen. Her middle name starts with Gerd (Gerdina, perhaps). She married Henry Onken on 25 Nov 1881 in Iroqouis County, IL. They had a large family, two of the children were Yetina Gerdina Onken (married to Herman H. Gotmer) and George H. Onken (married to Grace Enninga). They may have moved up to MN later in life. But a few of the children were born in Iroquois co.
Also, there are death records (again, Iroqouis co.) of an Alice Bernice Ennen (d. 19 Dec 1932 - Loda Twsp) and a Henry M. Ennen (d. 17 Jul 1931 - Artesia Twsp). Are they connected to Magdalena or perhaps to someone else?

I have some bits and pieces of information that may help. I found a Gerhard Ennen born Mar 12, 1851 place unknown who died Aug 18, 1895 in Iroquois County. He is buried in the Lutheran Cemetery in Buckley Illinois. Also found a marriage record of George Ennen who married Anna H. Onken on Feb 6, 1884 in Iroquois County.

Alice Ennen was a daughter of Theodore and Bertha Ennen. Henry Ennen was Theodore's brother. They are two of Andreas Janssen Ennen's sons. Andreas and Theda Ennen came to the United States from Wirdum, East Friesia, Germany in 1892. This is my line. I believe they ended up in Buckley Illinois because they joined a relative or family there, but I don't have any information that confirms that.

Hope this helps.

My Great Aunt, Anne Catherina Rosendahl b. 1889 in Danforth, Iroquois Co., Ill., married Harry Onken b. 1863. They had 3 children of whom I have records, Benjamin, 1906, Elmer, 1908 and Anna 1910. Quite a few people from Iroquois County went to the area of New Ulm and Sleepy Eye, Minnesota around that time as these were also German settlements and the lure of cheap farm land was inticement enough for whole clans to move.

I am looking for more information on the Ennen/Engenhausen families. My grandfather was Raymond T. Ennen son of Theodore & Bertha Ennen. I do know grandpa had a sister named Alice who passed away at a young age if not at birth & I also know a few of his brothers & sister names as well.

Any information you can send me would be greatly appreciated.
