Hello Dorothy,
My Grandad John was born in 1899 in Howth Co Dublin Ireland. I have yet to find out who his parents were, or those who came before him. So far info is coming slowly but surely.
There are so many McConkeys out there and branches who emigrated to the USA. I would love to be able to establish the linkage over the two centuries or more.

Are you looking for McConkey's in England.
My grandmother was a McConkey. I have got her family back to her gt grandparants, plus various children. He (the gt grandfather) was a coastguard and moved aound the coast of the south of England from Sennen in Cornwall, Portsmouth and Hayling Island in Hampshire, Hastings in Sussex. Then the family went to Kent.

Reading your post and think we my be related. My mother was Betty McConkey, her mother was Marcella (Madge) McConkey, who lived in Everton Valley around the 40/50's when you would have visited. Marcella married Thomas in Howth and Edward Rickard is my Uncle who married Rossana Moore in Howth. Marcella's sisters where: Lilley, Mary, Annie, Jessie, Rosanna, Maggie. Look forward to hearing from you.
