Jody - James Stithem was my grandfather. Lived around Richwood, Ohio in his earlier years. Died in Marion, County, Ohio at the Marion General Hospital in the 1950's. Wife was the former Ada Dixon of New Iberia, Ohio. Had one son and two daughters. Re-married several times. Second wife's name was Ruth.

At one time, he owned four (4) farms in Union County. Was also a welding foreman for the Marion Power Shovel Company. Would appreciate any information about the family since I know very little about them. You seem to have more names than I do.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Lucy Viola STITHEM who is from that vicinity of Union County. I have been trying to find the family she came from--and I have no information about her parents except that they were from the Milford Center-Richwood area. If you have any info or suspect any, please let me know.

Thanks,
Cindy

I may be related to your Stithems. I have info from the 1910 Ohio Census for Union County, Jerome Twp. There is a James Stithem who was 4 at the time living with father Elmer and mother--possibly Leona. Also in that area is a Melissa Stithem who may be the mother of my great-grandmother(I'm trying to make the connection) Let me know. Thanks

Info.. i was married to a stithem, kept the surname for convenience... most of my ex's relatives are from "hoyt" kansas, but some went to broken bow nebraska because of a disagreement between brothers (i think my husbands grandfather and his brother)... my ex's mother's maiden name i believe was staple. if you email me at dstithem@hotmail.com, i can probably direct you to a real stithem for further information. thanks

Hello,
Leona Halfhill is my great-great-grandmother. Her first husband was Frank Winegardner, whom I am related to. Frank died in 1902 and the children were put into the Champagne County Children's Home.

I just found her second marriage to Elmer Stithem. I don't know anything about the Stithems, so I would welcome any information you can share. I would also LOVE to track down a picture of Leona!

I have more information on Leona's first marriage and one or two generations back if anyone is interested-just let me know.

Haley

Hi NSTITHEM,

Do you have any information you could share on Leona? Or are you looking for additional information? I know quite a bit on the Winegardner family, but very little on the Stithems or Leona's ancestors.
Feel free to email me at haleyscomet08@comcast.net

I have information on the Stithem family. I am related through William James's daughter Lucy Viola Stithem. I also have the Stithem family history book written by Norman Stithem.
