I just spoke with the Estes DNA project and they gave me permission to post this information. Henry Eastridge of Ashe County NC Y-DNA ( male line) matches as being related to the Estes family of Granville NC.

To date we have not found proof that Henry Eastridge of Ashe NC and Nathan Eastridge of Wilkes NC were in fact brothers or if they are related. If anyone in Nathan's direct male line would like to DNA test please contact the
Estes DNA project at Family Tree DNA so we can prove or disprove if Henry and Nathan were related. I am a descendant of Nathan but I am not a direct male decendant that can DNA test.

Also it is believed that Nathan Eastridge had more than one wife. Elizabeth unk maiden (no marriage) being his 2nd wife. Elizabeth's first child with Nathan being Delphia Eastridge b. 1811. Delphia was born 9 years after sister Mahalea. It is blieved Mary Polly Eastridge b. 1798, Winny Eastridge b. 1800, and Mahalea Eastridge b. 1802 were from Nathan's first unk marriage. Unbroken female lines to these women could DNA test to prove or disprove this theory.

I recently matched with the DNA of a self-declared descendant of Delphia. I know myself to be a descendant of Elizabeth Eastridge, born c. 1794, probably in Hancock County in the Southwest Territory that later became Tennessee. Her mother was named Rebecca but her father is unknown. Based on this information I expect that the father was probably Nathan's brother. I doubt that Rebecca is the theorized first wife of Nathan, since she lived into the 1850s (I assume she was a widow by then). Anyone wanting to bounce theories off each other, please contact me.

I do know that Nathan had 3 graves on his property before he sold it and moved to Ashe County. I suspect the graves are his first wife and a few children since there is a 9 year age gap between my Mahalea and Delphia. Nathan's wife Elizabeth was a little to young to have mothered Polly, Winny and Mahalea.

I know people have posted that Nathan and Henry were brothers but this has never been proven on paper and why we need DNA.

I do believe that Ephraim was probably Nathan's brother. Nathan is bondman on Ephraim's marriage and he married a Chappell and so did the Tedders
