I keep reading all these messages from all the Cuneo's from all over the country. Are there any New Jersey Cuneo members left? They were in the Cinnaminson, Riverton, South Philadelphia area. My mother and uncles and aunts were Cuneo.

My name is Michael Miller. I reside at 271 Palisade Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1880, Nicholas and Catherine Cuneo built the home that I purchased. It is a beautiful Italianate home. In my research, I have found that Nicholas was associated with "fruit" either a salesman or owner of a fruit company. I looked it up in the census records.

I am interested in locating Cuneo family members who might remember the home.

Let me know if this helps in your search.

My grandfather and grandmother were New Jersey Cuneos. My grandfather (now deceased) was Francis Edward Cuneo.
My grandmother (still living as far as I know) is Frances Ellen Cuneo of Mays Landing, New Jersey.

I no longer have contact with this side of the family however I was told that my grandfather was once the Police Chief of Mays Landing. Hope this helps somewhat.

Your grandmother was alive as of 2 years ago and living in Florida and had your Uncle Richard living with her. Your Uncle Ed lives around Orlando Florida, I don't know about your Uncle Tom and of course your Uncle George died over 10 years ago in Florida. I am the daughter of your grandfather's brother Joseph.

My great uncle was John R. Cooney (Cuneo) who lived in Newark in 1926. He grew up in Pittsburgh Pa. He was born in San Colombano Certenoli, IT (just south of Genoa). I am looking for any information on John R.

I am going to San Colombano on 12/18 to do some research on the family.

John R had one brother Richard A. of Erie PA, Rose and Mary of Pittsburgh.

Michael, how are you. That Cuneo must come from the Cuneos that started the washington market in New york. Must have been a son or grandson. The elder built a house at the corner of today Ocean and Wilkenson Av, Jersey City in 1802 c. It remained in the Cuneo family until my family bought it (Masciarelli Family) in 1942, which it remained im my family until the city took it (eminant domain) to build the parking lot, for the elementary school across the street. It was 140 years old when my grandma bought it, it would have been one of the eldest houses in Jersey City today. They were ready to move anyway 'cause the neighborhood had gotten real bad the late 60's 4 generations of my family have lived their ( my g-grandma, grandma, father, and 2 of my older sisters. But I'm not sure if the Cuneos had it from the beginning, thought they should know. I found a map of Greenville,1873, and it has a picture of the house drawn and lists the property as P. Bouchout. So either the map was wrong, or the Cuneo family thought they had it from the time it was built. But since 1873 was only 70 years before my family got it, they probably could have traced it back that far, so i say the map has wrong name. If you would like to see the map, let me know.
