Ed, I am wondering if you are still working on this family. I too am looking for information about a McClure family who came to the Greenfield area (originally in Ross Co) in the very early 1800's from York Co, PA. They left ca 1790 traveled west overland to (probably) Pittsburgh where they arranged to have a raft built to float down the Ohio river. They were forced to stay at a fort in KY because of the Indian wars for some time. My 4x gt. grandmother, Sarah McClure, was born 7 July 1795 in KY before the family traveled on to lands which had been purchased in OH.
Please contact me if you are still working on your McClure's. Thank you.
