Do you know the parents of John O'Sullivan, b. Ireland, County of Cork. He married Ellen Daily (age 16). John came to Russell, NY 1849, leaving Ellen and 3 children Timothy, Nancy, Daniel. They soon followed to NY, 8 more children born to them in America: Mary Ellen, Catherine, John, Sarah, Thomas, Anna Stacia, Mortimer, James. Came to MI 1865, eventually settled Denver Township, Newaygo county, where Hesperia would eventually evolve. Ellen died 7.27, 1887, age 60, John died 1889 age 75.

I wonder if he might have been related to my father in some way. My father, Jeremiah O'Sullivan, was born in County Cork, Mill Street. I'll have to pull out the paperwork I have to see if there was possibly an uncle named John. County Cork isn't that big of an area...Seems them must be related.

I was wondering if your John was related to Michael O'Sullivan from the Mallow parish. He married Elizabeth Sullivan 1802, had three know children Mary 1817, John 1818, Catherine 1827. I hope there is a connection.

Hi, Thanks for the info on Michael O'Sullivan and his family. Sure sounds like there could be a connection. Our John O'Sullivan supposedly born in County of Cork. Since his daughter Catherine was born in 1854 it would be a good fit to your John who was born in 1818. Also I see John has a sister named Catherine and our John named his daughter Catherine. Do you know if Mallow parrish is in CountyCork? Not sure what info you have. Our John was a blacksmith, wife with Ellen Daily, he came to Russell, NY in 1849, leaving Ellen and 3 children in Ireland, then they all came over and more children were born. Eleven children total. Do you have any more info from what I've given you? Thank you for your kind information.

I do not know the parents of John O'Sullivan from County Cork, Ireland, but I do know of his son John, a blacksmith. He married the oldest daughter of Alexander Constantine and Martha Jane Martin. Her name was Hester Martin, but she had been married once before to a man named Coon in Iowa. They got a divorce there. Hester moved with her family from Iowa and in the 1880 census she was living with her parents there in Denver, Newaygo County, Michigan. They had a son Timothy John O'Sullivan born 5 Feb. 1882 in Denver, Newaygo County, Michigan. By the 1900 census, the boy was not living with his parents. I cannot locate a death date for them. The son moved to Houghton, Michigan and lived with other relatives. He had a half-brother Ralph Coon. Juvanne Martin
