I am trying to find some information about John B Morris. All that I have is that he might have died around 1863, he has two sons Josiah and John James, he wife was Wilmith A Dorris. His wife remarried about 1865 to William Fortner and I have seen the 2 boys listed as Fortners. If anyone could help me out I would really appericate it!

I think they are orginally from Tenesee but I found his wife and sons in Illinos and I am pretty sure that is where is was last located.

Hi; I have good info on the above. William Robert Fortner who married Wilmith Dorris/Morris, was the brother to my Gr gf Andrew J. Fortner.
John died during the Civil War. He drown on the Steamer "General Lyon" during the Civil War.
Somewhere I have a paper where William got custody, of John's 2 sons. They left Illinois and went to Stoddard Co. Missouri. You will find the boys there. Loretta lwparmer@embarqmail.com
