Surnames: BURNS
Looking for the descendants of William BURNS b 1809 who came to NB from County Down, Ireland and settled in the parish of North Esk in June 1803. He married Elizabeth MATCHETT, the daughter of William & Mary (Fraser) Matchett. I have the local books including Old North Esk by WD Hamilton. I am intersted in sharing and comparing family information with anyone researching this line.

Hi, My name is Gerald Wayne Leach my Father was Ernest Murray Leach. My great-great Aunt was Elizabeth Matchett and she married William Burns. Elizabeth sister Mary was my great grandmother. Mary Matchett married John Nowlan they had a daughter Margaret Jane Matchett (my great grandmother)
Margaret Jane married James W Leach (my grand parents). I did not spend much time in Red Bank\Sunny Corner growing up but I remember my father speaking about the Burns family. So William Burns would be my great-great uncle by marriage. I hope this will help some. e-mail me Thanks Jerry
