He died when I was only 25, so I didn't get much info from him. Looking for his grandparents on both sides. also any other info you may have.

Hello,

I am not sure who is who in your post. Is Paul Sr. the grandfather you are seeking? Is Helen the wife of Paul Sr? or is Elizabeth Wiesneski the wife of Paul Sr.?

Hi again, I found information on the Flaig and Eron families. Hope this helps. RP.

In some of the census records, I found the Flaig family indexed (and sometimes spelled) as Flick and Flike, and Haig. But I am sure all these census records are the right family.

Paul Flaig Sr. & Helen Eron most likely married in July of 1930 in Portage County. I found a newspaper clip for their license. This would be a good record to obtain, as I would think thir parents are listed on it.

From what I found, Paul Flaig Sr's parents were Otto Flaig & Carrie Hermann. Paul (born about 1904) had 2 brothers Peter (born about 1903)& Edward (born about 1907). I have not followed their tracks any further at this time.

Otto & Carrie were married January 13, 1903 in Wood, Wisconsin. Otto's parents were Benedict Flaig & Balbina (Dialer). Carrie's parents were Frank Hermann and Elizabeth Schiltz.

Balbina (Dialer). I think her maiden name was Rosenthal. Maybe she married a 2nd marriage Dialer? I found 2 more Flaig marriage records online that has Benedict Flaig as father, and Balbina Rotholes & Balbina Rotenthal as mother. I think these were brother & sister to Otto.

Paul's mother, Carrie (Caroline?), most likely died between 1907 & 1910, as Edward was born about 1907, and then these 3 children were living with their grandparents, (Carrie's parents) during the 1910 census. I couldn't find Otto in the 1910 census, but found him in 1920 in Shawano county. The 3 boys were back with him by then. So Carrie may have died in Wood County, or Shawano County.

Helen Eron's parents were Adam Eron (Heron)(Aarian) & Victoria Wilgosz. Adam's parents were Anthony Heron & Antonina Stesanska. Victoria's parents were Andreas Wilgosz & Annie Sievka (Annie from 1900 census). Helen had 6 brothers, Peter, John, Joseph, Walter, Felix, and Bolislaw Eron, & 3 married sisters, Martha Pliska, Mrs. John Soik, Mrs. Rose Spychalla. Adam and his son Peter both died in 1923, daughter Martha died in 1919, son John died in 1960. See obits. I see in the Portage County Cemetery Index that Victoria died in 1945, Joseph in 1980, Walter in 1990, and Felix in 1969, but I don't have access to their obits.

Magdalena, Balbina, & Otto Flaig were all on the same ship together. 1st Magdalena, age 19, then Balbina, age 57, then Otto, age 15. All 3 stated that their last residence was Lecdorf?. Ancestry.com has it indexed as Seedoy. I am thinking that maybe Magdalena was a niece of Balbina, and not her daughter, because she was going to her sister in Centralia, Wis, whereas, Balbina was going to her daughter in Rudolph, Wisc. For Otto, it was his sister.

Sometimes, there is a 2nd page to the passenger lists. clicking forward on the images took me to the affidavit of officer & surgeon (so this page was not it). I then clicked backward to the next page after the list with Magdalena, Balbina, and Otto, and (IF) this is their second page, which I think it is because the other passengers with differnt nationalities match up line for line, then all 3 stated that their nativity was (country) Germany and (Province) Oberndorf?. Their mother tongue was German, and they were a subject of Germany. Their religion was Catholic.

OBITUARY

Adam Eron Dies Suddenly

Exactly a month after the sudden death of his 21 year old son, Peter Eron, at the family home near Mill Creek, town of Carson, Adam Eron expired as unexpectedly at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. He had not been feeling well for a few days but arose from bed at an early hour on Tuesday, dressed himself and strolled around the premises. Experiencing sharp heart pain, he returned to the house, disrobed and returned to bed. A physician was sent for but before the latter's arrival Mr. Eron had expired. The son's death also resulted from heart trouble which became acute shortly after midnight of June 10th and he passed away before aid could be extended. Peter was veritable giant in stature and the father was also of exceptionally rugged constitution.
Adam Eron was born in Poland 63 years ago the 24th of last December and emigrated to America in 1875. Except for a year in New York state he had been a continuous resident of Carson since coming to this county 48 years ago.
Surviving relatives are the widow, four sons, John, Joseph, Boleslaw and Felix, all of Carson; four daughters, Mrs. S. Spychala of Antigo. Mrs, John Soik of Stockton, Elizabeth and Helen, at home: two brothers and two sisters, Joseph and John Eron of Carson, Mrs. Jacob Winkler of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. M. Rajkowski of Carson.
The funeral will be held from St. Bartholonew's church, Mill Creek, at 9 o'clock Thursday morning, with interment in the parish cemetery.

My great-great grandmother was Elizabeth Eron, the sister closest to Helen's age. She also died very young, in her 30s. I can share with you what I know, and I have some great family photographs.
