WOW, I did not know that there were so many Beaudry's untill I came to this site. My grandmothers name was Rose Elma Beaudry, along with other sister and brother. Their parents name were Beatris and Henry Beaudry. My great grandfather Henry, was a red head and was also half indian. I am still trying to find out more, but any information would be welcomed. Also I am not to sure if my grandmother was born here in New England or Canada, but will find out.
You are probably a descendant of what I called the Metis lineage. I have some Beaudry in my database and maybe I could help...
Do you have the spouse name of Henry... Beatrix ??? and the aprox. date and location of marriage
To J. Hill and Pierre Beaudry,
The Beaudrys I am researching are part
Algonquin from northern Ontario, around
Pembroke. They are related to the family
names of Stoqua and Laronde.
My first Beaudry in Canada: Amable Beaudry,
from northern France. He married Catherine
Ellen Stoqua, who was pure Algonquin Indian.
They had seven sons: Basil, Laronce, John,
Joseph, Baptiste, Denis, Frank.
I have quite a bit of information about the
three families: Stoqua, Laronde, Beaudry.
Could you yend the information you have on the Beaudry's side to my email address.
I will compare with what I have and come back to you.
Thank you very much
Thank You , Peirre and Anna, for the mess. I was not able to get all the information you had needed Peirre, but did however find that Henry ( my great grandfather), and his wife were from Canada. Their daughter (my grandmother), Elmma Rose(1915) and her 6 brothers and sisters were born in Mulberry Mass? My great grandfather Henry's mother was full blooded indian. I wish I had more to go on, as it would then make things easier in finding out more. Hope maybe that this little bit of information has helped:-)
I almost forgot to ask you! I do not mean to sound so daft, but just what is Metis Lineage?
I have just read up on the Metis Lineage, and it all sounds very interesting, and also something that I would be very proud of:-) Hope to hear back from you soon.
Dear Jamie Lynn,
Do you know if your Ggrandfather, Henry Beaudry had any other names?
Do you know what year he died and how old he was?
What about his father? Are there any family stories handed down?
My Beaudry family settled around northeast Ontario around Pembroke,
Osceola, Westmeath and Massey. Do these names sound familiar to older people in
your family. The Beaudry family I am connected to were married in Pembroke, Ontario
in 1852. Their names were Amable Beaudry (from northern France) and Catherine Ellen Stoqua
(from that region of Ontario; she was full-blooded Algonquin). Sometimes the Christian name given
by the Roman Catholic church was different than the second name which was more often used.
The families which I am referring to were French and Algonquin. They would have spoken French,
and broken English and Algonquin.
The names of the seven sons of this couple were:
Basil, Laronce, John, Joseph, Baptiste, Denis and Frank.
My Ggrandfather was John, baptised Jean Baptiste.
I have just found out that yes Henry Beaudry, did have another name (maybe a French name), do not know what it was though. He also had 1 brother and I think 3 sisters. Henry's brother had 8 children while married and 8 children (I think 8) outside of marriage. All these children were given the Beaudry name.
I also do know that Henry Beaudry was born 1880 in Canada. Came to the US in 1897, then married in 1909.
Does any of this information help in finding out more about him for me?
Henry Beaudry's "other" name or one he went by when he was younger was (Amery, Emory), not sure how it was spelled the proper way, but that's the name:-) Also, I believe he died in Ports Smith NH in 1943.
Hope it helps:-)
