Georgie,
The following is a synopsis of the information I found in the Snively/Snavely book by Washburn: Warning: even though I checked my typing, there may be some typos. If this line is of interest to you, I can copy a few pages and send them to you.

Jacob Snively (b:1745, prob Frederick Co. MD or Germany,d:1831 prob in MD) m: Amanda Shirley in 1771. Had 6 children (all listed) all prob born in MD.
No. 1 was John Snively (1773-1807) m: Amy Wilkinsson (an Indian girl from Carlisle, Pa. reservation) in 1800. Had 3 children (all listed).
No. 1 was Abraham Snively (?11May1807 - ?18Jul1887 in Scioto Co.,OH) m1:?30Apr1830 Ellen ____, m2:?Jane Smith. had prob 7 children (some listed). The book says Abraham is known to have gone from Western Pa. to Ohio, but no further information about him or his family branch is known.
However, much later in the book there is an isolated entry for a:
Daniel Snively (son of Abraham Snively) b: Oct1834, Venango Co.,PA, d: 5Feb1907, Red Bluff, Tehuma Co.,CA., m: Priscilla Childers (b: Jan1840 in NC), 28Nov1856 in Hangtown (now Placerville), El Dorado Co.,CA. Had 11 children which are listed.

This does sound like a match. If you could send me a few pages, or let me know how I can get a copy of the book myself.
Thank You

Georgie
The following is part of an email -regarding access to the Washburn book- sent to me by "Jerry" Snyder, Jr. (AOL) of KY.:

"I have access to a National Library Database, and found a couple of other Snively books listed which I wonder if you are familiar with. (1)
Genealogical register of the male and female descendants of John Jacob Schneble, now Snively: and also the male and female decendants of Samuel Bachtel and the relationship existing between said two families. (Wow what a book title!) by J. Snively, published in 1858 Chambersburg, PA; (2) George Snively Family, by Thelma Rohmeyer, published in 1984. The Elizabeth Washburn book is included as well as the book by William Andrew Snively which Mrs Washburn apparently used as the basis of her book. There is a copy of the latter at the Genealogy and Local History Library in Michigan. There are a number of Libraries in OH that have the Washburn book, so it will be easy enough to recover the missing pages."

In a later email, Jerry said that he found a copy in the Library in Cincinnati.

If you are experienced with working with scanned images, I can send you printable images (.jpg or .bmp, whichever you prefer) of the pages I found the info on. Or I can U.S. mail them to you (easiest for me)if you send your mailing address.

PS. My wife is a Snively. The Washburn book I have is from the late Guy Snively (her dad)archives and passed on to me.
Email me and also check Snivelys on my web sites:

Looking foward to hearing from you PLEASE feel free to send back to my own e-mail address georgie@lightening-isp.com
