LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON LEO BILODEAU, BORN AROUND 1915 TO FLORENCE BILODEAU.(HER PARENTS WERE ALFRED BILODEAU AND IDA BENOIT.) LOWELL/BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS AREA.

IN 1921 FLORENCE MARRIED RAPHAEL FARDELLA (HIS PARENTS WERE JOSEPH FARDELLA AND JENNIE (MANGANARO) FARDELLA.

ALONG WITH LEO, FLORENCE GAVE BIRTH TO FRANCIS BILODEAU IN 1917, EVELYN FARDELLA IN 1921, HELEN FARDELLA IN 1923? AND AMELIA FARDELLA IN 1927.

IN 1928 FLORENCE ABANDONED ALL THE CHILDREN AT HOME WHILE RAPHAEL WAS OUT. SHE TOOK ONLY AMELIA WITH HER, WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN SO YOUNG THAT SHE WOULD NOT REMEMBER ANY OF THIS.

AFTER DISCOVERING HIS WIFE AND YOUNGEST CHILD GONE, RAPHAEL TOOK EVELYN (MY GRANDMOTHER) AND HELEN TO THE FRANCO AMERICAN SCHOOL FOR GIRLS IN LOWELL, MA AND TOOK LEO AND FRANCIS TO THE HOME FOR LITTLE WANDERERS IN BOSTON MA. EVEN THOUGH LEO AND FRANCIS HAD THE SURNAME BILODEAU, HE PLACED THEM UNDER HIS OWN NAME OF FARDELLA.

EVELYN AND HELEN LATER CAME HOME TO RAPHAEL AND GREW UP IN ARLINGTON MA AND THEY FOUND FRANCIS WHEN HE WAS AROUND 18 YRS OLD, BUT NO ONE KNEW WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO LEO, FLORENCE, OR AMELIA.

FRANCIS WENT BACK TO THE NAME BILODEAU, BUT NOT SURE IF LEO WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME.

HE WOULD HAVE BEEN APPROX. 13 OR 14 YEARS OLD WHEN HE WENT TO THE ORPHANAGE.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

THANK YOU!

HAPPY NEW YEAR :~)

I JUST REALIZED I WAS OFF BY A YEAR.

AMELIA WAS BORN IN 1926 (NOT 1927)

AND FLORENCE LEFT AND ALL THE KIDS WENT TO THE ORPHANAGES (EXCLUDING AMELIA) IN 1927 (NOT 1928)

WHICH WOULD MAKE LEO ABOUT 12 OR 13 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME.

THANK YOU!
CHRISTINA

Hello Jean-Claude

Thank you for looking. I would think that these people never have existed, yet I have their birth certificates and marriage/divorce papers and my grandmother to remind me that they did. When Florence left she did a good job covering her tracks. I was hoping if I found some other relatives, maybe that would lead me to her.....but I will find out what happened to her :~), It just might take me forever. lol.

Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Christina

Hi Christina,

I found your post to be very interesting. I am related to your family by marriage. My husband is the great-grandson of Florence Bilodeau and Raphael Fardella. His father, Edward McMahon, is very interested in learning more about his family and we have been trying to research his family genealogy. As you know the Fardella/Bilodeau side is quite a mystery.

Any information that you could share would be extremely helpful.

Ed says that you can call him if you'd like, 802-373-3424. He's been trying to get in touch with your mother as well, Sandy (they are cousins).

Thanks so much,
Meredith McMahon
