Surnames: Mullarkey/Milarkey/Mularkey/Malarkey/ O'Gara
I am looking for information on Catherine Mullarkey (Milarkey, Malarkey, several spellings on different documents) who married John O'Gara in Ireland. They emmigrated to Canada sometime @ 1840 give or take a couple of years. John had a sister Catherine who married James Elliott. Together they bought 100 acres of land to farm in 1847. They had a son John born in Ireland @1838, a daughter Bridget born in Ireland, in all they went to Canada with four children. They had a daughter Margaret who married a David Barrett and settled in Chicago on Artesian Ave. John & Catherine's son John married Sarah Donoghue, daughter of Matthew & Jane Donoghue. Help with this family would be appreciated. Want to know where in Ireland they came from. Thank you in advance for any help.

Well- welcome to the O'Gara Clan!!! I don't have any pictures of Margaret or her sisters. I would hope someone somewhere does though as they were an interesting group. Margaret married David after David's wife Catherine O'Gara ( Margaret's sister)died. Then there's their sister Mary who married Jeremiah Crowley and when she died he married their sister Bridget. Those O'Gara girls must have been hotties! I'll get info to you later as I'm at work.
