Classification: Query
Surnames: Ruby, Reuby, Rubey, Rubi, Ruba, Reubin, Ruprecht
If there are any Ruby families out there, please contact me. There have been various spellings of this surname; Ruby, Reuby, Rubey, Rubi, Rube, Ruba, etc. There is some evidence that the Ruby Surname was associated with the Wittlesbach family of the 1200's (?).

I have been trying to locate the ancestors of my 4th ggrandfather Charles Ruby (b: 1785 in Kentucky, USA, d:about 1850 in Kentucky). Charles married Susannah Burns in 1809. Charles had a brother Jacob Ruby (b:about 1780 in Maryland, USA). Jacob's surname has been documented as being Ruby, Rubey, and Reuby.

If this Surname is familiar to anyone, please let me know, especially if there is a connection with my Charles (1785).
