IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Helen M. Helder, 87, of 2905 Raven St., Iowa City, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the New Hope Methodist Church, Iowa City. The Rev. Jim Davis will officiate. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.
Mrs. Helder was born June 22, 1916, in rural Brandon, the daughter of Frank and Lillian Bartosh Havlik. She married Wesley Waterhouse May 10, 1938. She later married Alfred Helder Oct. 8, 1977.
She graduated from Troy Mills High School.
Her life passion was caring for her family and being a sales manager for Field Enterprise Educational Corporation, later becoming World Book Encyclopedia and Related Educational Products, for more than 20 years.
She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church, Iowa City. Her family brought her so much joy throughout her lifetime.
Survivors include her children, Irene Lary and husband Robert of Muscatine, Doris 'D.J.' Nordstrom of Maplewood, Minn., Frank Waterhouse and wife Diane of Goodyear, Ariz., Bonnie Lingnofski and husband Tom of Menasha, Wis., Marvin Waterhouse and wife Barbara of Manchester and John Waterhouse, all of Iowa City; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a brother, Lumir Havlik
